Terraria‘s 1.4.5 update, aka Bigger and Boulder, has four new transformation mounts for you to collect.
Each of these four transformation mounts offers something unique in terms of its strengths and abilities. To use them optimally, you’ll want to pay attention to what they offer. This guide will find all of them easily if you’re exploring the Terraria 1.4.5 update.
How to get all new Transformation mounts in Terraria 1.4.5 update
As part of the update, there are four transformation mounts to find: Rat, Bat, Raptor, and Pixie.
Rat
You’re going to need the Cursed Piper Flute to transform yourself into the Rat. You can find the item in Ivy Chests, but it’s a random drop. Moreover, this is a Pre-Hardmode item, so you’ll need to play a new save. Ivy Chests can be found in Jungle Shrines and Living Mahogany Trees in the Underground Jungle.
To make your life easier, you can use the Spelunker Potion. Having the Metal Detector will also bring you closer to locating the chests. Turning into a Rat will help you fit through spaces and gaps that are extremely small. You’ll also enjoy better movement speed, the ability to climb up walls, and reduced fall damage.
Bat
You’re going to need the Amulet of the Night item to transform into a bat. To find them, you’ll need to defeat Vampires during a Solar Eclipse. Alternatively, the item can spawn from chests in the Vampirism secret world seed. Your best shot is to defeat Mechanical Bosses first, which gives a 5% chance to trigger a Solar Eclipse event.
Once triggered, defeat as many Vampires as you can (until the item drops). You can also use a Water Candle to raise the chances of triggering the special event. As a bat, you’ll be able to fit through tight spaces and enjoy better mobility. The form will also allow you to reach locations and secret spots that otherwise remain out of reach.
Raptor
You’ll have to find the Slasher’s Mysterious Skull item to change into a Velociraptor. Thankfully, you can craft this item at an anvil. Here’s the list of items that you’re going to need.
- 20 Sturdy Fossils
- Five Amber
- Five Fallen Stars
Unlike the Rat and Bat, you can keep using weapons as a Raptor. Moreover, you get carried by a Pterodactyl when equipped with wings.
Pixie
You’ll have to find the Enchanted Pixie Dust item to transform into a Pixie. This item can drop as random loot from Pixies in the Hallow biome. The odds are 1/200, so you’ll definitely want ot use Water Candles to raise the odds. This mount offers you Infinite Flight, but you can’t use any weapon with it.
