The Upcoming Photo Mode Has Been Revealed in More Detail, and The First Descendant Players Share Their Thoughts

The highly requested Photo Mode for TFD is getting closer and closer. During the recent live broadcast, The First Descendant Players devs revealed the Photo Mode and showed what it’s capable of doing, and now, after seeing them, the players share their thoughts.

Photo Mode is a common feature in many games today. Instead of resorting to screenshots, it allows players to capture photos via the in-game feature. Usually, it either allows you to “freeze frame” the scene so you can take some awesome action shots from different angles, or there is a dedicated mode where the characters can make various poses before you take the photo. And now, let’s see how the Photo Mode for TFD will look and what the players think about it.

After Seeing the Details About Photo Mode for The First Descendant, the Players Share Their Thoughts and Worries

For the upcoming Photo Mode, the devs showcased the initial features during the March devlive. The photo mode will be accessible through the menu screen (from the March 13 update onward). The devs didn’t mention whether we will be able to access it wherever we are or if it will be an Albion-only feature. We expect it’s the latter.

In any case, the Photo Mode opens up a bunch of different options so you can modify the image to your liking. You can tilt the screen and play around with the focus, brightness, contrast, and all the other features you’d expect. The Descendants themselves can strike up different poses. It is worth noting that you still have to resort to the default “take a screenshot” button, ie, the Photo Mode only sets the scene up; there is no dedicated “Take a Photo” button (at least, in the initial phase).

As for the player reactions, during a discussion and wishlisting about the Photo Mode, the players agreed that it would be a godsend for content creators. “Photo mode will be cool for the fans to help push the game on social media and also for content creators to make thumbnails,” said Sawt0othGrin, and “…the more people know about the game, the more popular it can become. Now, they need to bring us a good photo mode so we can demonstrate the entire art concept of this game. I’m really excited about it, I can’t wait to try it,” agreed Feelicia_Flawless.

However, the players are “worried” about an obvious fact. Since we all know that the ladies of TFD are the main attraction, we can’t deny that the Photo Mode will be used for more…unsavory ends. Then again, the same was with Stellar Blade. When the devs added Photo Mode to Stellar Blade, player engagement went up. Looking at the current situation, TFD should use every trick in the book to rally the players. Let’s be real: Nexon knows perfectly well what they are doing. The players wanted Photo Mode, and they provided it.

Lastly, the players are a bit sad that there is no option to “freeze frame” so they can take some great action shots. But, as mentioned by the devs, this is only the first “iteration” of Photo Mode, providing the bare essentials, and more features are on the way.
