We are all different. We have different tastes, and different opinions. Different experiences have shaped our lives. Thus, the chances of stumbling upon someone who agrees on everything with you are almost non-existent. However, through talking and co-operating with others, we learn new things and discover new approaches. So, the Monster Hunter Wilds community agreed that it was unacceptable that so many players who answered an SOS were then bullied for their approach to the game.
Monster Hunter Wilds Community Is Tired of Bullies
Have you ever joined an open lobby only to be faced with criticism? Recently, many players have complained they were criticized for various things, their build, their strategy, or even their look.
Now, sure, this game has been wildly successful since it dropped, with millions of players joining. One can’t expect each of those players to be a decent person. However, the number of players doesn’t excuse this type of behavior.
One player, Facepool123, explained that this wasn’t an issue until the SOS feature was introduced in MH World. This player noted: “If you open up hints for random players to join, either through SOS or posting it publicly in a lobby, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO GATEKEEP GAME MECHANICS FOR ANY REASON. This includes people’s weapon choices as well as their builds! Remember, we play games for fun! I encourage everyone to emphasize fun over DPS or any form of minmaxing”.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
We love that so many Monster Hunter Wilds players agreed with the OP’s stance on players answering an SOS. After all, we are all here to enjoy the game and unwind, all while slaying some cool-looking Monsters.
Bullet_Queen shared: “I only expect two things from other hunters: Try to hit the monster. Try not to die. If you’re doing that, you’re golden in my book. If you’re off picking daisies I’ll uhh… assume that’s prep work for either of those anyway”.
Of course, players who like answering an SOS chimed in and gave suggestions for finding a sort of a middle ground. ElatedHippogryff stated: “I’ll add one more courtesy I always extend when joining. Follow host’s endgame plans. They lay a trap near end, get tranq and help cap. They lay barrel bombs? Get ready for big booms and carves”.
It all boils down to co-operation and finding common ground. Do that, and we’re sure your games will become much better and even more interesting. So, good luck, be kind, and enjoy the game.
