Does Nioh 3 have crossplay? Nioh 3 co-op and multplayer, explained

Nioh 3, much like other Soulslikes, features co-op and multiplayer where players can summon each other into their worlds or for particular fights.

But those of different platforms aren’t often included in the bargain, as many times games tend to lock players to a particular console or the PC without allowing for any intermingling.

So, here’s everything you need to know about crossplay co-op in Nioh 3.

At the time of writing, Nioh 3 does not feature any form of crossplay. Those who are on the PS5 will have to match with like-minded folks, while the PC crowd is stuck on their island of superiority, with no one else to accompany them.

This is a real shame and a huge downside for the game, which is otherwise a tremendous experience, as I have noted in my recent review. Co-op and multiplayer have been done incredibly well when you do have matching platforms, and it would have been a great addition and quality-of-life functionality to have crossplay in Nioh 3 as well.

Considering how much time and effort Team Ninja put into refining and polishing just about every aspect of the game, I’m at a loss as to why they didn’t include crossplay. Nioh 3 is intended to receive significant post-launch support, however, so that the crossplay function could come with a potential Xbox release somewhere down the line.

In the meantime, you’ll only be able to invite friends into your world if you are on the same platform, which at the moment includes only the PS5 and PC.
