“J.O.E.L Has Plans For Cyberstan” Helldivers 2 Players Theorize Why They’re Having Difficulties With the Vog-Sojoth Liberation

You win some, you lose some, right? If it’s on the bot front, you usually lose some (we’re looking at you, Martale!). Well, since Martale was finally liberated, divers found another nearly-impossible target on the Automaton front – Vog-Sojoth. However, since the Vog-Sojoth liberation effort has lasted for more than a week, some Helldivers 2 players claim that J.O.E.L doesn’t want them to come one step closer to Cyberstan.

Helldivers 2 Players Noticed the Vog-Sojoth Liberation Was Taking a While

As you know, the latest Major Order sent the players to kill as many bots and bugs as possible. If you enjoy fighting the Automatons, chances are you fought on Vog-Sojoth over the last week or so.

One player, DizzyScorp, stated: “I have been fighting on that frozen bastard for the last few weeks. Coming back every day to see the % has dropped heaps is pretty demoralising”.

Even though the number of players has been consistently high, and the regen rate is low, the Helldivers just can’t seem to liberate Vog-Sojoth. If you look at the graph below (borrowed from helldivers.io), you can see that the number of players went well over 20k at some point, but the players were still losing.

Of course, you can also see when the pause began, and when the war continued. Surprisingly enough, the players somehow made a lot of progress during the “ceasefire”, and they are finally nearing the liberation of this planet.

So, why does it take so long for players to liberate a planet with a low regen rate? Some Helldivers 2 players claimed that the reason was that Vog-Sojoth was close to Cyberstan.

One of them, Sithishe, explained: “Joel doesn’t want us near the border of the sector where Cyberstan is. Because it’s not read yet, I think. Obviously, bots are next for a “glowup” and also bots still doesn’t have urban maps, so I guess thats why. Maybe they want some special bots, urban biomes with bot cities there or something”.

Why Is Cyberstan Off-Limits?

Ah, Cyberstan! The enjoyers of the first installment of Helldivers and veterans already know what makes Cyberstan special. This planet is located in the Valdis sector, and it’s an Ice World. Back during the first Galactic War, Helldivers defeated the Cyborgs on this planet and trapped them in the mines. For anyone confused, the Cyborgs were a rebel group of Super Earth citizens well-versed in biomechanical engineering. They were one of the enemy factions in the first installment.

How did the bots end up on Cyberstan? Well, once they joined the Second Galactic War, everyone thought the bots were headed toward Super Earth. However, they made a sudden turn, took over Cyberstan, and made it their base. Rumor has it that the Automatons were somehow created by the Cyborgs in the first place.

This isn’t the first time Helldivers talked about going for Cyberstan, however, this idea somehow always gets foiled by… J.O.E.L, of course! Unfortunately, we’re quite sure that the idea of liberating Cyberstan will be overshadowed by something big happening, say Moradesh being destroyed.

Still, this shouldn’t stop Helldivers from trying, right? We’ll be diving on Vog-Sojoth for the time being, there are some weapons we’ve overlooked that we want to try out. Will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
