Space Marine 3 Is Officially In Development, Announces Focus Entertainment

Riding the wave of success, Focus Entertainment announced that Space Marine 3 is officially in development.

Space Marine 2 is one of the most successful games of 2024. The sequel to the first Space Marine from 2011, this one continued to follow the adventures of Captain Titus, as well as provided some awesome squad-based co-op missions and your regular competitive multiplayer. It has a respectable score of 82/100 on Metacritic. It would have been better, but the game suffered from mishaps a couple of times. In any case, SM2 proved successful enough, and the Warhammer 40.000 universe is so incredibly popular nowadays that the third instalment, Space Marine 3, is now officially in development.

Focus Entertainment – “Space Marine 3 Is In Development”

On March 13, Focus Entertainment Publishing, Games Workshop, and Saber Interactive announced that the third instalment of the Space Marine video game franchise is officially in development. 

John Bert, Deputy CEO of Focus Entertainment Publishing, stated: “…Today, we are thrilled to announce that the adventure will continue with Space Marine 3. Players can look forward to an immersive campaign, a multiplayer mode, and innovations that will redefine the standards of third-person action games. Developed in close collaboration with Games Workshop, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 will take the genre to new heights by introducing large-scale battles that are even more spectacular.”

Furthermore, Matthew Karch, the CEO of Saber Interactive, added: “We are now starting to develop Space Marine 3, a game that carries with it tremendous expectations from our rapidly expanding fanbase.  While we will continue to support and grow the Space Marine 2 universe over the coming years, we will take all our learnings and apply them to an even bigger and more spectacular game for the third installment.  We view this as an opportunity to create a true love letter to the Warhammer 40.000 universe.”

In the first two games, the noble Captain Titus has faced Orks, Tyranids, and servants of the Arch-Enemy (Chaos). The Imperium is running out of enemies, so for the third game, provided that the devs don’t want to repeat the antagonists, we expect to see Necrons, Eldar, or Tau. Or the story may take a whole different turn, and we see a civil war in the Imperium. This is only speculation by the author, as the devs have yet to reveal further info about the game.
