The Last of Us Part II Remastered Receives Steam Deck Verified Status Days Before the Release

The Last of Us Part II Remastered Receives Steam Deck Verified Status Days Before the Release

Are you ready to enjoy the adventures (well, mostly horrors) with Ellie and Abby on your handheld? Well, if you didn’t think you could, we’ve got some great news for you. In a completely unexpected twist, The Last of Us Part II Remastered was granted a Steam Deck Verified status.

The Devs Announce That The Last of Us Part II Remastered Has the Verified Status

The Last of Us Part II Remastered is set to be released on April 3. The majority of Steam Deck users didn’t expect this game would be Verified before it even dropped. It took the first installment several months to get the Verified Status.

On March 31, the developer of The Last of Us franchise, Naughty Dog, shared the exciting news on the official X account. The announcement read: “The Last of Us Part II Remastered for PC is officially Steam Deck Verified ahead of its release on April 3”.

Steam Deck Users Are Wary of The Verified Status

As you most likely know, Steam Deck users have been disappointed in the past. For example, even though Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered received the Verified status, it didn’t deliver. However, some games, such as Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, received the Verified status before launch and justified it very quickly.

For the time being, at least until The Last of Us Part II Remastered drops, the jury is out. Some players still carry the grudge because Part I wasn’t, erm, in the best condition on Steam Deck. One player, Beeg Yoshi, noted: “I hope you guys know Verified as the game is playable in an acceptable state. Not like what happened with the last of us part I, just cause the game runs”.

So, let’s hope for the best. Don’t get your hopes too high, but also try to remain positive. There have been plenty of Steam Deck Verified games running well, especially recently, so one can hope this one will too. Enjoy!
