All Gen 2 Pokemon in FireRed Version & Where To Find Them
As mentioned before, Gen II (Johto) Pokemon are unlocked with the National Dex, and most of them can be found by exploring the post-game content (Sevii Islands). Here are the FireRed Version exclusives and where to find them:
- Bellossom: Can be obtained by exposing Gloom to a Sun Stone.
- Elekid: Players need to breed an Electabuzz and a Ditto at the Four Island Daycare, walk around for a bit, then go back to the daycare, talk to the clerk, and receive an Egg. The egg will hatch into Elekid.
- Scizor: Players must visit the Memorial Pillar in Five Island and pick the Metal Coat held item there. Then make Scyther hold that item and trade it with another player.
- Wooper: Can spawn while surfing around Four Island. It can also be found at Icefall Cave.
- Quagsire: Evolves from Wooper at level 20.
- Murkrow: Spawns in the Lost Cave (Five Island).
- Qwilfish: Can be angled using the Super Rod in the waters of the Water Labyrinth and Five Island Meadow.
- Delibird: Spawns inside of Icefall Cave; players need to surf and reach one of the northern platforms using Surf to find it.
- Skarmory: Spawns in Sevault Canyon (Seven Island) in the tall grass.

All Gen 2 Pokemon in LeafGreen Version & Where To Find Them
Players trying to complete their National Dex will soon find the need to trade with another version of the game. In the case of LeafGreen, here are its Gen 2 exclusives and their location:
- Slowking: Travel to Seven Island and to Sevault Canyon, where there is a King’s Rock that can be obtained by solving a Rock Smash/Strength puzzle. Players can also obtain a King’s Rock by catching Slowpokes after getting the National Dex. Now, give that King’s Rock to a Slowpoke and trade it with another player, and it will evolve into Slowking.
- Magby: Get a Magmar and a Ditto, and leave them at the Four Island Daycare, walk around for a bit, then go back to the daycare, talk to the old man to receive an Egg. The egg will hatch into Magby.
- Marill: Travel to Four Island and use Surf in the small lake next to the Pokemon Center. Marill should spawn after swimming around for a bit.
- Azumarill: Evolves from Marill starting at level 18.
- Misdreavus: Travel to Five Island and use Surf, then go all the way around heading east until you find a small gap between the rocks, then follow this path to reach Lost Cave. Enter the cave, pick either of the side paths, and walk around until Misdreavus spawns.
- Sneasel: Spawns at Icefall cave. Players will need to have a pokemon that knows the HM 03 Surf to access this place.
- Remoraid: Can be caught using the Super Rod in the waters of the Water Labyrinth, and Five Island Meadow.
- Octillery: Evolves from Remoraid at level 25.
- Mantine: Can spawn in the waters that surround Seven Island, especially the northern side of Trainer Tower.
