The Christmas cold has arrived early in ARC Raiders as part of the Cold Snap update, and you can find snowballs to engage in some friendly fights with other raiders.
The latest update has introduced a special condition that applies to all maps. When the Cold Snap conditions are triggered, the maps will have major areas covered by snow. You’ll encounter snowballs under such conditions. This guide will help you find out about the snowballs and explain what you can do with them.
How to get snowballs in ARC Raiders
You can only find snowballs when a Cold Snap condition is active on a map. You can check whether the condition is active before beginning a fresh round. The Cold Snap condition is pretty unique as it will completely transform the maps. You’ll have to be careful about the chill that can chip away at your health if you’re not careful.
You can find snowballs in the group. You can also collect them with your hands. Go close to a snowball, and you’ll get the Collect prompt. The snowball will be added to your quick slot, and you can equip it to throw at another player.
The process of throwing a snowball is the same as throwing any other throwable. You confirm your aim and then choose the force to determine how far the snowball will go. However, the range of snowballs in ARC Raiders appears to be relatively low, so try to be close to another player while throwing a snowball.
Can you damage someone with snowballs in ARC Raiders
The snowballs are purely cosmetic in nature. You can do no damage by using them on other players. They also don’t have any in-game effects, and it’s meaningless to carry them back. You’ll get just 20 coins per snowball, so it’s better just to use them in a round before a safe extraction.
However, pay attention to them if they’re required for completing the latter stages of the Flickering Flames event.
