Dragon Ball: 4 Characters Stronger Than Whis, Ranked

Ever since his very first moment in the series, Whis has established himself as one of the best characters throughout all of Dragon Ball. On top of his infectious personality and hilarious antics, Whis is also an Angel of the Multiverse, which makes him one of the most powerful beings in the setting.

Due to being in a state of perpetual Ultra Instinct, Whis is one of the few masters of the technique in the multiverse, through which he has become even stronger than his Destroyer God, as all Angels are. However, despite his immense strength, there are a few Dragon Ball characters who seem to be even stronger than him, so let’s take a look at who they are.

Vados Was Said To Be Stronger At One Point

Making her debut in the vs. Universe 6 arc of Dragon Ball Super, Vados was shown as the Angel attendant to the Destroyer God of Universe 6, Champa. In this arc, Vados was revealed to be the older sister of Whis and was stated to be even stronger than he was, albeit the last time they sparred was eons ago.

At the current moment, this is a contentious pick to be sure, since there is nothing that confirms Vados as the stronger of the two right now. In fact, Whis outright believes that the difference in their strength is purely because of his inexperience all those ages ago, and that if they fought now, the outcome would be different, so nothing concrete can be said about this.

The Angels of the multiverse owe their unmatched power to their mastery over Ultra Instinct. Though they are far stronger than even Destroyer Gods, their difference in strength in relation to each other comes purely from their level of refinement of this ultimate technique, which essentially means that Angels with greater control over Ultra Instinct are stronger.

At the top of this ranking is the Grand Priest, who essentially acts as the Angel attendant to Zeno himself and has the greatest control over Ultra Instinct. Whis even states that, due to this, he is one of the 5 strongest fighters in the multiverse who was shown to stop planet-ending punches from multiple Destroyers with a single finger, confirming him as far stronger than Whis.

Zeno Holds The Power To Erase Entire Universes

At the top of the Multiversal hierarchy, there lies the Omni King, Grand Zeno. Serving the role of a Destroyer God but on a multiversal scale, Zeno has the greatest offensive power out of any character that has ever been shown in the series, as he has managed to erase entire universes and timelines by simply raising his hands, seemingly without any effort on his part.

Zeno is not a fighter. He doesn’t need any complicated or powerful Martial Arts techniques since his innate power can erase entire concepts and universes from existence, which is something that he can spam repeatedly with ease, as he did in the Tournament of Power. Out of everyone in Dragon Ball, none is as destructively powerful as Grand Zeno.

Majin Rymus Created The Entire Multiverse

In Dragon Ball Daima, a lot of new and previously unknown pieces of lore regarding the franchise were revealed, particularly dealing with the Demon Realm. Eons ago, the leader of the Demon Realm, known only as the Good Supreme Demon King, ordered a mysterious being known as Majin Rymus to expand the borders of his kingdom, which ultimately led to the creation of the multiverse.

Next to nothing is known about Rymus aside from this fact. All that is confirmed is that he is classified as a ‘Super Majin’ and is so powerful that he was able to create the entire multiverse as we know it today. Shin even explained that Rymus remains the greatest authority in the multiverse who exists above the whole thing, which many believe puts his power far above the likes of even Zeno and has placed him as the unequivocal strongest character in Dragon Ball.
