What are we all playing this weekend?

Lots of good newsies this week from Triple-I, weren’t there? Catching up on it all after the fact, I was making lots of appreciative rumbles. Makes me wanna, I don’t know, play games or somesuch.

Here’s what we’re all clicking on this weekend!

Brendy
I may crack on with the puzzles of Blue Prince, which I began last night. So far I feel like I’m just playing a roguelike remake of Encarta Mindmaze. But maybe I’ve just not seen the most interesting puzzles yet.

Edwin
I won’t be playing games this weekend. I’m seeing family, doing housework and catching up on some reading. Ehh, maybe a bit of Strange Horticulture.

Graham
Graham has gone full pirate mode.

James
Too many people that I trust are saying Blue Prince is good for me to continue ignoring it. Damn them.

This weekend will be split between Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, Stardew Valley, and The Phantom Fellows, an indie point and click that I started a few days ago. Featuring a guy who can talk to ghosts and his 1800s-era spirit pal, the two go around pretending to exorcise hauntings when it’s really just them chatting with disgruntled ghosts and doing a bit of puzzle solving. Basically The Frighteners, but in game form. There’s a cool system where you can talk to your 1800s-era spirit pal whenever you’re stuck and he’ll offer up tips bit-by-bit, like your own hint hotline. The ever witty dialogue also features this powerful line: “What is a man if without pageantry?” What, indeed.

Nic
Secret review game that is the best secret review game I’ve played in ages and might actually be one of my favourite (genre) entries ever? Never been so excited to work on a weekend, honestly.

Ollie
This weekend, I’m rather excited to be playing a bout or two of 1999’s Worms Armageddon with my partner. I’ve already named all my worms after the bestest kitty-kats in our lives so that she’ll feel incapable of aiming a bazooka at them. That aside, I’ve started playing Trackmania’s Cups Of The Day with my brother, and it’s stressful but incredibly fun. It makes each Track Of The Day feel like a story. Also we came 3rd and 2nd place yesterday in our divisions, which is pretty cool.

But you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?…
