Slay the Spire 2 fan drew badly every day until its release, now they’ve created an art book to celebrate

One Slay the Spire fan who took it upon themselves to “draw badly” until the release of Slay the Spire 2 has created an art book cataloguing their works. With the game now released, they’ve revealed this lovely creation to the world.

User PixelPenguin on Reddit posted a picture of themselves holding a colourful book titled Drawing Badly until STS2 Comes Out Vol. 1-300. First starting their journey roughly two years ago, they continued the process day after day until posting their 620th piece on the 5th March.

This book features a cool little inclusion from another handy artist. One Ursa Ryan has provided a foreword for the book. Ryan is known for taking on a similar feat a few years back, drawing a piece of art for the internet every day until Civilisation 7 was released.

For those interested in experiencing this saga firsthand, and don’t fancy crawling back through years of Reddit posts, you can actually buy the book on Amazon. These first 300 pieces, all created using MSPaint, will be yours to pore over. In the listing, Penguin wrote: “Whether you followed the project from Day #1 or are discovering it for the first time, this unofficial book is a tribute to patience, obsession, and the strange joy of doing something pointless for so long it becomes a part of your identity.”

Slay the Spire 2 has proven quite the hit. Not only is it a blast to play both solo and co-op, over half a million people bought and played the game themselves over its launch weekend. There are even official plushies for super fans to collect and enjoy, if you partake in such fabric pleasures.
