We had enough issues with the infamous explosion effect in the game. But now, a new boogeyman is here, in the form of Malevolent’s spinning blades. Players have issues with Malevolent’s VFX, which prove to be a bit demanding on their CPUs, and are asking for something to be done about it. As it turns out, Malevolent’s spinning blades may get the same treatment as the infamous explosions, which were plaguing The First Descendant community up until recently.
We all remember how explosion VFX proved to be a huge problem for the game. The sheer number of explosion animations created by launchers, especially if used by Gley (or several Gleys), proved to be too much for some and caused some serious lagging, and even crashes. The players asked for something to be done, a way to lessen the impact those explosions have on the CPU, and Nexon responded by adding the option to limit the explosion to only seeing your own, or simply removing the VFX altogether. The players rejoiced, but now, a new threat emerges in the form of hundreds of spinning blades.
An Option to Remove Malevolent’s Spinning Blades VFX May Be Added, According to The First Descendant Devs
The issue with the spinning blades was even voiced by one player on Discord, who asked for an option to remove them, just like the explosions, as they are too heavy on the CPU. Surprisingly enough, one of the community Moderators gave an answer.
MOD_Jeremy: “Thanks for sharing your suggestion! Many [players] reported this and the team is aware of the issue with Malevolent VFX!”
This may not mean much, but since many players, as MOD_Jeremy stated, are reporting the same thing and the developer team is aware of it, chances are it will get the same treatment as the explosions.
We know that the spinning blades are beyond cool, but we also know that multiple Descendants all shooting them at the same time can overcrowd your screen and cause issues, so Nexon would do well to give us an option to remove the effects. They have already done the same thing with the explosions, so we believe that it will not be that hard to do once more.
