Who Are the People in the Photos Scattered Around in STALKER 2? The Players Finally Have an Aswer to This Mystery

If you’ve played STALKER 2, you’ve surely stumbled upon at least a couple of photos, portraits to be exact, just lying around. However, none of these are marked in any way, nor connected to the storyline. So, one can safely assume these pictures are some easter eggs left by the developers. If you’ve seen them, you must have wondered who those people were, right?

Who Exactly Are the People Featured in Photos in Stalker 2?

We’ve seen plenty of theories over the last couple of days. One player reported finding a picture of a woman in a desk drawer. If you want to check it out, it’s reportedly located in Quiet’s Camp, on the second floor, in the first room on the left.

However, players reported finding hundreds of pictures such as this one in various places. Some players are even collecting them by taking screenshots. Also, there have been plenty of theories on who the people in the photos are.

One of the most popular theories was presented by Manning_A3C. This player noted: “It might be in memory of someone who died during the Russian attack on Ukraine. I know there are a couple of pictures of devs who joined up to defend their country around the Zone, but I might be very wrong”.

Even though this theory sounds plausible, and that act would be quite a tribute, unfortunately, it isn’t correct. The answer to this mystery is actually quite simple, and probably the most obvious one.

It Was the Devs, All Along

The people in the photos in STALKER 2 are the developers of this game. This was confirmed by the devs on the official STALKER 2 Discord channel. In the gsc-answers section, where the devs answer players’ questions, one dev, Mol1t, confirmed it. They noted: “Edited photos of developers”.

Some players suggested that these photos were sort of like signatures. Reportedly, the dev in the photo created the area where the photo can be found. However, we have no official confirmation that this is true.

Truth be told, easter eggs, such as these, are quite cool. They show the devs’ dedication, and, usually, the games with easter eggs are quite cool. Like these photos in STALKER 2 or the Salute the Flag in Helldivers 2. So, enjoy the game, try out some mods, and try to find as many easter eggs as you can.
