A passionate fan of the Legend of Zelda franchise has just completed an amazing achievement, marathoning 100% completions of every 3D Zelda game in one sitting. The Legend of Zelda has grown from its 2D roots into sprawling 3D adventures, with more recent entries like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom revolutionizing open-world games. Many of the 3D games also include particularly deep side missions and challenges for players to complete.
While Zelda stories have largely stuck with the reoccurring conflict between Link and Ganon, the franchise has continued to improve its side content. Many modern Zelda games offer a breadth of expansive side quests for players to complete, with many like Majora’s Mask‘s Anju and Kafei quest and Breath of the Wild‘s Tarrey Town missions including their own separate stories. The Switch-era games also introduced a multitude of Shrine challenges for players to complete around Hyrule, alongside collectibles like the Korok Seeds. Now, one Zelda fan has completed a particularly impressive feat by achieving 100% completion on every 3D Zelda in one sitting.

Zelda Fan Completes Every 3D Game in One Sitting
Twitch streamer Nukie shared their impressive achievement after a nearly four-day-long livestream, fully finishing every 3D Zelda game. The streamer spent nearly 89 hours live on Twitch 100% completing each 3D game in the franchise, beginning with Ocarina of Time all the way through Tears of the Kingdom. Nukie shared that she had been preparing for the stream for nearly six years, with seven different games included in the enormous challenge. The time clock also allowed fans to gauge the quickest and longest games in the challenge, with Ocarina of Time taking just over four hours while Tears of the Kingdom required 32 hours to complete.
- Ocarina of Time: 4 hours, 19 seconds
- Majora’s Mask: 5 hours, 12 minutes, 20 seconds
- The Wind Waker: 7 hours, 14 minutes, 12 seconds
- Twilight Princess: 7 hours, 12 minutes, 54 seconds
- Skyward Sword: 8 hours, 39 minutes, 34 seconds
- Breath of the Wild: 22 hours, 40 minutes, 19 seconds
- Tears of the Kingdom: 32 hours, 51 minutes, 31 seconds
The stunning Zelda accomplishment did come with some disclaimers about fans potentially looking to try out the challenge for themselves. Nukie shared some of her own advice for other gamers, discouraging fans from attempting the challenge due to the potential health risks. The streamer stressed that she had been preparing for the Zelda streaming event for years and that she had been cleared by her doctors to attempt the challenge. The short completion times for each game were also a particular outlier, with recent games like Tears of the Kingdom potentially taking hundreds of hours for unprepared fans.
The Zelda Franchise Has Continued to Grow and Innovate
While 3D adventures have remained the focus for Zelda‘s modern games, the franchise has experimented with plenty of other styles in recent years. 2024’s Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom returned the franchise to its top-down roots, putting players in control of Princess Zelda as the main character for the first time. Hyrule Warriors has also grown into a popular spinoff for the franchise, with the recent Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment even expanding the story of Tears of the Kingdom. The Koei Tecmo-developed hack-and-slash spinoff may even have served as an inspiration for the future of the main franchise, according to a series mainstay.
Nintendo has not officially announced the next Legend of Zelda game, though the future of the franchise is clearly fresh on the developer’s mind. Series producer Eiji Aonuma recently gave fans an early teaser about the next game, suggesting that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment may serve as inspiration for Zelda‘s future. The Zelda franchise is also gearing up to celebrate its 40th anniversary on February 21, with news about Link’s next adventure potentially coming amidst the celebrations. The Legend of Zelda has etched an unforgettable legacy into the world of gaming, and impressive challenges like Nukie’s show the dedication fans hold towards the series.
