“A Slap in the Face” Some Helldivers 2 Players Are Truly Dissatisfied With the Recent Changes to the Ultimatum

On February 11, Helldivers 2 developers issued a patch that mainly addressed minor issues and crashes. This patch also featured some balancing changes that took the players by surprise. Two weapons from the Servants of Freedom Warbond were “fixed”. While the majority of Helldivers 2 players are happy with the changes made to the LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle, according to some players, the devs ruined the GP-31 Ultimatum.

The Nerf Changes the Appeal of the Ultimatum

Baskinator, the Helldivers 2 Community Manager, took to Discord and gave the players a better insight into the patch. She shared all of the details, and while most of the changes were more than welcome, many people are unsatisfied with what the devs did to the Ultimatum.

The CM noted: “We have seen a lot of mixed player feedback for this weapon and how certain players feel it trivializes some of the harder content whilst others feel it plays just fine and is a great addition to the game. We have carefully opted for an approach where we’d like to reduce the ease of access to additional ammunition while maintaining the weapon’s core identity as a powerhouse. This means players will need to put in more effort and strategy to maximize its effectiveness at the cost of some armor and booster synergy for this specific weapon”.

Baskinator added: “We will continue to monitor these changes so please keep providing us more feedback! The GP-31 Ultimatum is no longer influenced by the Hellpod Optimization Booster or the Siege Ready armor passive”.

Some Helldivers 2 Players Are Asking for Changes to Be Reverted

Surprisingly, many Helldivers 2 players didn’t react well to the changes made to the Ultimatum. The main problem is that it’s confusing and unnecessary that the boosters and armor passives suddenly don’t apply to some weapons.

RV__2 noted: “Genuinely though, I’d prefer if it just couldn’t take out jammers. It was just about perfect as a pocket heavy nuker before. Its only real problem was taking the wind out of really just that one objective. Now it’s just awkward at everything”.

Another player, Least-Drawing-2054, stated: “This kind of unnecessary knee-jerk nerfs really make me lose trust in AH and their decision-making abilities. Even if they are incredible developers. Both the primary and secondary didn’t need further nerfs or balancing and a booster not working on 1 weapon is a horrible precedent to set”.

So, what do you think? Did the devs make a wrong decision? Honestly, we’re just glad they didn’t take away our ability to make a Hellbomb trebuchet. Also, we are sure that the devs are listening and taking notes, so feel free to voice your concerns.

In the meantime, the Major Order is still in progress. Many players have already decided to throw this one, but, we’ll be fighting until the very last minute. Will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
