The players are getting some serious help against the Illuminate! After undergoing some much-needed fixes, the DSS is back in Helldivers 2. The Democracy Space Station has been offline for more than a month, and the players are quite happy to see it’s operational once again. However, some Helldivers claim it needs some more work.
Helldivers 2 Devs Worked Hard on the DSS
The latest Major Order began on January 16, and the DSS arrived with it. The in-game briefing explained everything the players needed to know. The Illuminate interfered with the DSS, so it had to be put offline while the Super Earth’s greatest engineers worked on it.
Basically, the engineers improved security, added the Heavy Ordnance Distribution and they are still working on the controversial Planetary Bombardment. They also made one crucial change, as the players can now move the DSS six times more frequently, meaning every four hours. This could make quite a difference.
As for the new Tactical Action, the Heavy Ordnance Distribution, it seems great, but we’re yet to see it in action. According to the in-game description: “The DSS Logistics Armada supplies all Super Destroyers orbiting the planet with surplus 380mm shells. Ordnance support is also provided to SEAF operations, accelerating liberation efforts. Gives access to the Orbital 380mm HE Barrage stratagem during missions. Accelerates progress in Liberation Campaigns”.
The remaining two Tactical Actions, the beloved Eagle Storm, and the Orbital Blockade, well, they probably stayed the same, although we’ll have to wait a bit to confirm this. There are some concerns that the Eagle Strafing runs were changed to Eagle Airstrikes, but, players claim that the description always read Airstrikes even though we’ve always enjoyed Strafing runs. So, be sure to confirm that once we fund the Eagle Storm.
Helldivers Are Almost Satisfied
With the holidays and the devs’ winter break, no one truly expected the Helldivers 2 devs to issue this many fixes to the DSS so quickly. So, the majority of Helldivers are truly grateful for this effort. Of course, they took the opportunity to express their opinion that there was still a need for more work on the DSS.
OutcomeAcademic1377 noted: “Besides the problem with voting, there are a number of other fundamental issues with the DSS that still make it feel lackluster and not worth the time and effort put into building it”. This player added: “The changes to the DSS are good, so stop pretending it’s somehow bad because you wanna be angry about something again. There are still many problems with the DSS that need to be addressed. So stop pretending it’s somehow perfect and nobody is allowed to point those issues out”.
We’re sure the devs will appreciate some constructive criticism, as they always have so far. So, feel free to voice your opinions. After all, the devs are making this game for Helldivers, so they should know what needs to change. Now, meet us on Haldus, and let’s fry up some Squids. For Liberty and Super Earth.
