Pacific Drive has finally come to Xbox and it’s also been added to Game Pass, available to those who sub to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, or PC Game Pass. In addition, Xbox players can also check out the Whispers in the Woods expansion which also launched today.
The base game, which itself is a lovely and mysterious roadtrip well-worth playing, is available for those with Game Pass, though the Whispers in the Woods expansion must be bought separately for £12.49 / €14.99 / $14.99. You’ll also be able to buy that for PS5 and PC, which each recieved the base game back in February, 2024.
The expansion got a release date trailer last night during the Galaxies Showcase, which you can watch yourself below. Who doesn’t love a surprise same-day release for a game or expansion?
Whispers in the Woods comes with an additional narrative arc, new anomalies to discover, new artifacts to find, and a whole new region of the map to explore.
The critically acclaimed indie driving game, which sees you navigate an anomaly-filled Pacific Northwest America, was one of Eurogamer’s best games of 2024. In our annual round-up, the game was described as such by editor Chris Tapsell: “One of this year’s most unique games, but also one that seems to tap right into the zeitgeist: weird physics, gallows humour, masochistism, and a requirement to press on regardless.”
Game Pass recently received a price hike, as well as a change to the tiers of subscriptions themselves, all while Xbox recorded record subscription revenue. It was only earlier this week that The Outer Worlds 2, Football Manager 26, and PowerWash Simulator 2 were announced as upcoming additions to the service this October.
