The activation conditions for a gear set’s special ability in Towerborne

When equipping a set of gear, players can find the set’s ability activation conditions beneath its defense and gear score. The most important condition players must meet is wearing the correct number of armor pieces from the set. Typically, each set of gear will require players to wear three items belonging to the set.

Once players meet this requirement, the gear’s skill will automatically activate whenever its conditions are met. For the Northerner’s Legacy set, this condition activates the Mender’s Flask. Other sets will require players to meet other requirements, so read them carefully before using a set.

How to Put Cosmetics on Gear in Towerborne

To decorate an item with a Cosmetic, you’ll need to enter the Loadout screen and select the item you want to add a cosmetic to. Hold the space bar or the left mouse button over the item to enter the Cosmetics screen. Find the cosmetic you want, then select it with the space bar or tap on your left mouse button twice to equip it.

You’ll need to add cosmetics to each piece of your gear separately, making it easy to mix and match sets.

Where to Get Gear Cosmetics in Towerborne

Like with Umbra cosmetics, players may purchase gear skins with Writs in the Curios shop and the Writ Store. These sets can be purchased outright in the Writ Store. In the Curios area, players will need to unlock all the items in their chosen Curio’s previous tiers before they can purchase their preferred set.

There are also two cosmetic gear cosmetic sets locked behind the Gold and Silver Founders Packs for Towerborne.

Additionally, defeating bosses for the first time will give players access to special cosmetic sets themed after them.

The other cosmetic options available are cosmetics modeled after the regular sets of gear in the game. By entering the Cosmetics tab for any piece of armor, players can scroll down and purchase a skin of their favorite in-game set. Each piece will cost either 75 Writs or 225 Writs.
