Mage Arena‘s primary focus is to pit you against other human opponents (be it solo or in a squad), but the map has other enemies you should be wary of.
The map varies based on the game mode, and Capture the Flag has nine tiles. There are claimable and unclaimable tiles that offer XP and resources. While you’ll come across different NPCs on the map, they also have enemies that can end you and your squad if you’re not careful enough.
All enemies in Mage Arena
The table below has details of every enemy you can find on Mage Arena‘s map. I have also added the areas so that you can be careful on your adventures. Typically, areas that have better loot also have the more dangerous enemies, so it’s always advisable to consider the risk.
Enemy | Location | Strategy |
---|---|---|
Big Toad | Frog Bog | These gigantic toads hide in the swamps of Frog Bog, waiting to catch and devour you entirely. If you get too close to it, chances are that you’ll die. If you attack it from a distance, they will go underwater. Avoid them unless they’re blocking your path. |
Gnome | Gnome Forest | These creatures won’t try to hurt you, so you should return the favor. They offer excellent trades occasionally, which is always useful. |
Gnome Carriers | All zones | They first appear when you capture a zone. They transfer resources across different captured zones and vanish once they have delivered the goods. |
Knight | Cemetery | Not sure if he qualifies as a monster, but the Knight NPC offers you the chance to discover the legendary Excalibur from the Mausoleum. |
Mage | Cemetery | An extremely dangerous foe who can hit you with a white fireball in the Mausoleum. Try to avoid their fire and hit them back with spells. They’re rather easy to kill. |
Red Wizard | Magma Castle, Beach Cave | While they can be tackled easily, their spells hit hard, and they have various attacks. |
Skeleton | Cemetery | Skeletons are hostile, but they can be tackled easily. Attack their limbs to break their speed, but they will still pursue you (just a pointer). |
Out of all the enemies available in Mage Arena, Red Wizards and Big Toads are the most dangerous ones. If the latter catches you, I don’t know how you can escape its bite. Red Wizards can one-shot you on certain occasions, but you can do the same.
It’s always handy to learn as many spells as possible, as doing so will allow you to manage the cooldowns better, and have different options on hand (or rather, your vocal chords).
