Amazon still has a saving on the best gaming SSD even after Prime Day is over

Just when you thought Prime Day was over, we’ve mentioned it again and triggered all those flashbacks.

Still, the good news is that Samsung’s 990 Pro 2TB is still reduced by 29% at Amazon, meaning you can pick up a bunch of extra storage for just $149.99 in the US. It’s discounted in the UK, too, if you’re happy to forgo a heatsink.

Starting with the US, there’s a 990 Pro 2TB with Heatsink model that’ll set you back just $149.99, and it offers sequential speeds of 7,450MB/s read and 6,900MB/s write and random speeds of 1400K/1550K IOPS.

Sure, it’s not PCI Gen 5 fast, but you’re also not paying through the nose for the privilege. In short, it’s very fast, whether you’re using it for general storage or somewhere to run your games off of, and while PC gamers will no doubt lap it up, it’s also a great choice for a PS5 or PS5 Pro console, too, particularly because Sony recommends a heatsink.

If you’re looking for other storage sizesm there’s also a 1TB option for $99.99 (down from $139.99), as well as 17% off of a 4TB version which brings it from $384.99 to $319.55.

Over on the UK side, the heatsink model has sold out, but you can still grab it without, with 1TB down to £86.39 or 2TB at £138, down from £109.79 and £182.99 respectively. I actually picked up a 2TB one myself, having thought I’d missed my chance with the madness of Prime Day last week.
