Here we go again! It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the Helldivers 2 community. The latest patch dropped on April 1, and it only brought some fixes. A lot of time has passed since a bigger update dropped, so the players have been a bit antsy and just a tad dramatic lately. There have been some leaks claiming Helldivers 2 would get an update soon, but there was no solid proof. Well, at least until now.
Helldivers Might Have Found Proof of an Upcoming Update
Waiting for an update isn’t easy. Different players deal with it in different ways. Some come up with exciting challenges, some take a break from the game, some might complain a lot, while others patiently search for any indications that the devs are working on something.
Well, one of the players from that last group has found something that could be quite big! The player in question, kcvlaine, was looking at the Changelist on SteamDB. They saw that on April 23, the devs changed “App Config”. That sounded strange, so the player filtered the results and discovered that “App Config” was last changed on February 6, 2024.

The OP noted: “So I asked Deepseek to analyse the entries and it basically said this looks like a big performance improvement/content drop is imminent. We know all that is coming, so I guess it’s not a spoiler. Basically, in the coming couple of Tuesdays, we may have a big update”.
Another player, Gib_entertainment, added: “Stingray is a tool to make GUI development easier. So maybe they swapped to stringray to make GUI development easier? What does it mean? Hopefully, fewer GUI inconsistencies”.
We truly are no devs, but this is proof that the Helldivers 2 devs are actively working on an update, and that’s quite encouraging. Last week, the CEO addressed performance issues, and the devs noted they were working on various bugs. Will the rest of the Illuminate arrive with that patch? We can’t know for sure. The one thing we do know is that we need your help on Pilen V for the Major Order. For Liberty and Super Earth.
