Amazing news for devoted melee weapon lovers! It seems that the Helldivers 2 developers are just as interested in adding a chainsword as the players are in getting it. Shams Jorjani, the CEO of Arrowhead, recently commented on the probability of this melee weapon making it into the game. Let’s see what he had to say!
Helldivers 2 Players Might Be Getting a Chainsword to Play With at Some Point
In the evening of July 17, Shams Jorjani took to the official Helldivers 2 Discord and chatted with the players for a while. The CEO wanted to check if the community liked the new Warbond, but the Helldivers had plenty of other questions.
One player, R32Tailight__, wanted to know if a primary melee would ever be added. This player elaborated: “Primary melee in the works? Is it a possibility? I really want a very large sword, it would be so cool”.
Not only did Jorjani reply, but he also surprised the players with some unexpected information. Jorjani stated: “we won’t rest until some kind of chainsword is in the game. you know for the elegant kills”.
Players Vow Their Lives to Arrowhead If the Devs Deliver
Ah, Helldivers, they can be so dramatic, it’s wonderful. We’ve seen dozens of “Give us the chainsword, and our lives are yours, Arrowhead” posts on all Helldivers 2 social media accounts. We love a community that is so devoted!
Of course, many players praised Arrowhead and expressed their gratitude for everything the devs have done so far. Helldivers being Helldivers, they also shared their requests for the chainsword. One player, ImmortalBlades, noted: “Now let us have mechanical limb replacements and my soul is yours”.
Another player, Sad-Needleworker-590, added: “Also, maybe hot take, but it should be as primary, not secondary. With a medium pen or even heavy pen”. That sounds… like a dream come true! So, hopefully, the Helldivers 2 devs will actually add the chainsword at some point.
