“Another Filler MO” Helldivers 2 Players Grumble as They Deal With a Terminid Outbreak for the Latest Major Order

After a successfully completed Major Order against the bots, it’s now time for Helldivers to face some bugs. There’s a high possibility of a huge Terminid outbreak, and it’s up to Helldivers 2 players to stop it for the latest Major Order. However, the community is slightly annoyed by the MO, as it seemingly doesn’t contribute to any storylines.

The Current Major Order Is to Stop the Terminid Outbreak

After a couple of days without a Major Order, the latest one arrived on January 10. Players were elated at first, as many suspected something big was about to happen since the break between MOs was so long. As it turned out, the current MO was demanding, but seemingly wouldn’t have a big impact.

As always, a briefing dropped alongside the Major Order. The mostly-forgotten Xenoentomology Center detected an increase in the outflow of Terminid spores from the Gloom. Several outbreaks are in progress, and more are to come. You can expect infestations on planets adjacent to Terminid territory.

Also, Super Earth inadvertently showed its true colors in the last paragraph of the briefing. It stated: “Citizens in threatened worlds have been issued evacuation-standby orders, with off-planet transport on standby for high-priority civilians and their tallest children”. Um, we know Super Earth needs more Helldivers, but this is just rude.

This MO is another longer one, as Helldivers had more than 5 days left to defend against five Terminid attacks at the time of writing this article. When the Order expires, Fenrir III and Polaris Prime should be under Super Earth’s rule, so keep an eye on these planets.

Helldivers Are Getting Tired of Filler MOs

Even though the Terminid outbreak and the current Major Order sound exhilarating, most Helldivers 2 players weren’t too happy. Many players pointed out how all of the recent MOs felt like fillers while the Arrowhead staff was on their holiday break.

X_SHADE_X noted: “The last months have just been defend x amount of planets, capture x amount of planets and kill x amount of [enemy type]”. No_Ones_Records added: “It’s getting kinda stale. It felt nice to make gains against the bots (rest in s**t Martale). But overall it’s been kinda samey for a minute now”.

Now, if you are among the players worried about the game becoming stale, we have good news for you. First of all, there are plenty of leaks that show off new content. For example the Illuminate units, weapon customization, and even a Special Event. Secondly, the Arrowhead team is back from their vacation, so things are bound to get more lively.

So, we’d suggest you use this “slower” Major Order to bond with fellow divers and work on your driving skills. We’re sure something big is coming, so you better be fully prepared to spread some Managed Democracy. For Liberty and Super Earth.
