“Are We Going to Lose Super Earth?” A Leaked News Segment Shakes the Helldivers 2 Community to the Core

You win some, you lose some, right? Well, some lost battles might mean a lost war, but with some luck, that won’t be the case. Helldivers 2 players truly hope that the leaked news segment about the fall of Super Earth was planted in the game files by the Illuminate. So, how much trouble is Super Earth in?

A Leaked News Segment Announces the Fall of Super Earth

Ugh, it’s a doozie. One prominent leaker, Asunderknight, shared a video they found in the game files. Now, this leaker noted that they couldn’t find the audio that goes with the video, so there’s no sound. But, the fact remains, the video is disturbing.

It announces that Super Earth has fallen. The Illuminate have occupied the planet. We also learn that the President and the Democratic Council are safe (phew!). There is a quote from the President: “This is a day of unimaginable tragedy. But Managed Democracy is far greater than a single planet. So long as our citizens remain loyal to our way of life, Super Earth lives on”.

As always, there were quite a few interesting details in the chyron (the news ticker).

• New Illuminate units confirmed creepier than ever.
• Citizens “carry on” working in face of invasion.
• Ministry of Defence says Illuminate invasion was long anticipated.
• Citizens advised to avoid capture “at any cost”.
• Ministry of Science to send probe through wormhole.

Truth be told, all of these are quite concerning. Especially the one about “sending a probe through the wormhole”. This was already suggested by players months ago. Will we leave our galaxy for another one, if Super Earth falls?

Helldivers 2 Players Are Disturbed by the News

As you know by now, the Illuminate attacked Super Earth on May 20, just as the Heart of Democracy update dropped. So, the leaked news segment raised concern in the Helldivers 2 community.

UnnecessaryFeIIa noted: “Oh sh**, so we actually can lose this fight. I was expecting a scripted win but that actually makes this so much more interesting now”. AymanMarzuqi added: “No way. If this is true, then the Illuminate has just catapulted itself to becoming humanity’s archenemy… This is crazy”.

Still, with the sudden influx of players, Helldivers have a chance to defeat the Illuminate. They just have to approach the situation head-on. TurboTorturer yelled: “What are you doing just standing around like a damn cry baby?!?! GET YOUR PANSY A** OUT THERE AND FIGHT FOR SUPER EARTH!! AND DON’T COME BACK UNTIL YOU ARE COVERED IN SQUID BLOOD!! DEEEE-SMISSED”.
