In this guide, players will find the exact location of the three lanterns they need to pick up from Kashiwara Manor. But first things first: Let’s take a look to how to trigger this quest in AC Shadows.

How To Start Light And Shadows

To start Light And Shadows in AC Shadows, players need to travel to the Iga region and return to Naoe’s Home, where they will find a letter from Matsu, stating that she is finding a place in the mountains to die in peace. Finding her won’t be so easy, but using the League’s Scouts a little to the southeast of Nabari Wilds will reveal her location on the map.

The Igan settlement is located in the middle-east section of the Iga region, and Naoe’s house will already be marked on the map since players probably visited the place in the flashbacks while doing the Before the Fall quest with Naoe.

So, go there and talk to Matsu. After a cutscene she will send Naoe to remove a dangerous brigand who has been occupying her summer cabin. Follow the marker to discover a small house with an Assassination target harassing an old man and a little girl. Kill him and talk to the man named Yoshiharu.

After that, return to Matsu and collect some worms from the North side of Nabari Wilds, following the stream until players find a deer corpse. Then, return to Matsu to discover that the girl was faking her illness. Talk to Yoshimaru once more, without revealing that his granddaughter was lying, and he will task players with retrieving three lanterns from Kashiwara Manor.

Where To Find Kashiwara Manor In Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Finding this restricted zone is a little bit tricky. From the Hiiyama map marker, follow the river and check to the left of the fork with the Scouts to reveal the location of Kashiwara Manor.

Travel there, and kill the enemies in the place. The most problematic enemy will be the Elite with the Kannabo, so watch out for his wide attacks and kicks, that can send Naoe reeling with a single hit.

After disposing of the invaders, use Naoe’s focus to reveal three blue dots that will pinpoint the location of the Red Lanterns. One is on the left, inside the house. The second lantern can be found in the building in the middle of the area. Finally, the third one is to the right of the entrance, inside a small warehouse.

With the three lanterns in Naoe’s hands, return to Yoshimaru and deliver them just in time for dinner. When asked what the light of the lanterns feels like, players should pick: Home. After that, players will be able to complete the Shadows and Light quest and will receive 1000 XP and the Red Lantern Post Hideout Cosmetic as a reward.
