Battlefield 6 has sold over seven million copies in just five days, new data estimates have revealed.
The figure covers both console and PC sales, and comes from Alinea Analytics (via GamesIndustry.biz), which estimates the game has grossed roughly $350m in less than a week. The company’s data also states that around 55 percent of the Battlefield 6 playerbase is on Steam.
Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics told Eurogamer prior to the launch of Battlefield 6 it was on track to perform better than any prior game in the series. Compare that to the best-selling game in the series Battlefield 1, which sold 15m copies in a year.
Battlefield 6’s performance seems to align with publicly facing stats courtesy of SteamDB, which showed that Battlefield 6 had reached roughly 750,000 concurrent players on Steam on its launch day. It has already proven to be one of the biggest launches on Steam, with servers clogged up by a large wave of incoming players.
The development team has also proven keen to update and fix the game in its early days. Already senior devs have stated their intent to fix a movement bug called “Ladder Launching”, as well as weapon bloom bugs that are throwing players’ shots off.
If you’re not one of the roughly seven million players that have hopped into Battlefield 6 yet, why not read Eurogamer’s review! In it, Rick Lane notes: “Battlefield 6 delivers a thrilling multiplayer reset and a decent, if derivative single-player. But it still displays nagging doubts about what makes Battlefield special.”
