Battlefield 6 players have raised the issue of low out-of-bound timers making helicopter combat nearly impossible. These low timers are causing Battlefield 6 players to die in circumstances that feel out of their control.
Even after the game’s open beta, the full release of Battlefield 6 has a few issues that need to be ironed out by Battlefield Studios. The community has been quick to respond and share the issues it’s having with Battlefield 6, in the hopes that the developer can act quickly and improve the overall experience. Any FPS game is a delicate balance with tons of variables working in tandem, so it’s only natural that there will be a few issues at this early stage of release.
Battlefield 6’s Out-Of-Bound Timers Are Too Low For Helicopter Combat
One such issue is the out-of-bound timers, which were shown off in a clip by Redditor FailedDetails. In the footage, they fly their helicopter just out of bounds, and quickly turn to get back in. However, the five-second timer combined with the clunky handling of Battlefield 6‘s vehicles means they’re unable to get back in time, dying as a result. Even just a second more, and they would have survived, but the brutal timer condemns them to death instead. Ultimately, timers like this are supposed to punish players trying to move out of bounds consciously, but in this instance, it’s difficult to see what more the player could have done to avoid the issue.
The comments in the thread broadly agreed that this countdown is way too fast and, to some degree, kills helicopter combat in the game. It was pointed out that while increasing the timer might be necessary, also increasing the boundaries for Battlefield 6 maps while using vehicles could help alleviate the problem.
Others pointed out that on some maps and when using specific vehicles, the timer is increased to 10 seconds. It’s unclear why there are any differences depending on the context, and some theorized it could even be a glitch. Regardless, it’s something that Battlefield Studios should take a look at.
Despite players having small complaints here and there, the overall reception to Battlefield 6 has been very strong. In between larger content drops when Season 1 starts later this month, it’s likely there will be a few smaller updates to tweak the finer details that players are experiencing issues with.
