As little lag as possible.
Gears of War Reloaded is out on PC and console, and you’ll want to run the best possible settings for your device to ensure minimal lag and maximum FPS.
At the end of the day, Gears of War Reloaded is a hardcore shooter. The single player has a beautiful campaign (try it out if you have never played the original version), but the multiplayer version is great for those who prefer to be competitive.
Here are the best settings so far.
Best Gears of War Reloaded tips and tricks to reduce lag
In my first few hours, I didn’t experience too many problems. The performance was smooth, apart from the occasional stutter. Here are a few basics to sort out before we deep dive into the best settings.
- Update your Graphics drivers: Whether using an AMD or Nvidia card, updating your drivers to the latest version is extremely important. If you’re unsure whether your drivers are up to date, it’s best to double-check for available updates.
- Cap the frames: It might seem like a step backwards to cap your FPS when the highest possible number, but the truth is most video games tend to be quite unstable at launch, and improve only once a few post-launch updates roll out. I am quite confident that will be the case with Gears of War Reloaded, but a temporary cap can aid smoothness and save your graphics card from a meltdown. Anywhere from 60 to 120 should work, but it’ll depend on your rig.
- Disable V-Sync: It’s better to disable it until we get a few post-launch patches. However, you can keep this feature permanently turned off.
