There’s hardly somebody on this planet who isn’t a superhero fan. Their flashy costumes, superpowers, and story compel everyone, which is why comic books are still popular, and many studios make movies based on these stories. However, sometimes reading and watching their superhero isn’t it for the fans, and they want something more, which is where the superhero video games genre comes in.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
Not the perfect way to kill off Arkham Batman
From the studio that brought the legendary Batman Arkham series, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League seemed like the next chapter in the Arkhamverse. The game has an interesting story with Brainiac taking over the Metropolis and mind-controlling every member of the Justice League. Amanda Waller crafts a team of rag-tag criminals to tackle this threat. The game has interesting shooting mechanics and the traversing mechanics are also quite unique. These mechanics are different for each member of the team and add a unique flavor to the game.

Why Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Fate Can’t Be an End-All Be-All
Warner Bros. struck out with both Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: KTJL, but that shouldn’t spell the end of DC ensemble games.
The setting of the game in Metropolis is also refreshing and kind of feels great after getting out of the dark menacing Gotham. However, this game slightly misses the mark. After a point, the mob battles seem repetitive. Also, the game seems to be a one-and-done type. As a standalone superhero game, it holds up, but if players expect the same Rocksteady-Arkham gameplay, then they might be disappointed. Still, players can enjoy Kevin Conroy’s last Arkham Batman performance.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine The Game
Better than watching the original film
It is a well-known fact that X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a poorly crafted movie with a lackluster movie with a lot of downsides. However, before the movie was released, Activision gave fans a tie-in game that was just way better than the movie itself. The story was much better, and the elements of gore were so prominent that even God Of War would shy away. Players finally get to feel what being Wolverine is like, a completely unhinged beast that can slice anything in his path.

Hugh Jackman Playing Wolverine For Another 10 Years Would Be A Mistake By Marvel
The possibility of Hugh Jackman portraying Wolverine for another decade would be a mistake by Marvel.
The game dives much deeper into the origin story of Wolverine and has a similar story to the movie, Logan, taking down Sabertooth for killing her true love. But, there are other elements too, and side quests that make the game very enjoyable. So for the love of Wolverine and Hugh Jackman, players can definitely jump into X-Men Origins: Wolverine The Game.

Deadpool
The Game Ryan Reynold must’ve played before becoming Deadpool
The Merc with a mouth, Deadpool, has always been an interesting character in Marvel Comics. In the era of Batman, Spider-Man and Iron Man games, Activision released a game on this unserious character. While creating a comicbook character-based game, the devs had to keep in mind the character while playing must feel like him, and they did a fantastic job on this.

They added every quip, action and physical comedy that Deadpool would do in his video game. It also starts in very Deadpool-fashion with he himself pitching to create “the most awesome game ever.” The story is great, not something spectacular. Deadpool gets to team up with a bunch of X-Men members such as Cable, Psylocke, and his best buddy Wolverine. It is a very underrated, super-fun game that DP fans must play.

Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy
Features similar magic to the MCU GOTG movies
In 2014, Marvel Studios introduced the broader world and casual Marvel fans to Guardians Of The Galaxy, a team combating the intergalactic threats in space. Fans actually like this presentation and banking on this popularity, Marvel, with Square Enix, developed Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy. Players take on the role of Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, and the team starts on a mission to clear the mess that they actually created. Even though the game features all five original members: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon, players can’t switch between characters, and there’s a good mechanic behind it.

So, basically, as the Star Lord, players have to coordinate the time and strategize their attack to make the most out of it. In general, in RPGs, the main character usually does the heavy lifting while others are just there. However, this actually feels like a team game. Star-Lord doesn’t feel like an overpowered character overshadowing others and requires others to support him. The game features tonnes of cutscenes and dialogue, which give a more movie-type vibe.

Injustice 2
Great sequel that actually feels unique
Injustice 2 is the sequel to the widely popular Injustice: Gods Among Us. It was a general consensus that the single player in Injustice: Gods Among Us was great, but it was way too long. In Injustice 2, that isn’t the case. The single-mode campaign feels much tighter and also gives players time to learn the abilities of the main characters. It doesn’t feel linear in a way that characters have to square off for the story, and things go here and there sometimes.

The devs have also changed the mechanics here and there to make sure the gameplay feels different from the previous installment. The gear system in the game is also a bit unique, but opens the gate for many microtransactions that many players hate.
3
Batman: Arkham Knight
Almost perfect Dark Knight game that just misses the mark
Batman: Arkham Knight is the final installment of the widely popular Batman Arkham series. This follows up the story after the events of Batman: Arkham City. After the death of the Joker, Bruce Wayne isn’t himself and struggles with keeping things together. This was reflected very well with him seeing visions of Joker across the map. Batman truly hits rock-bottom in this game with all his closed one in danger and his city on the verge of being destroyed.

Best Suit Mods In Batman: Arkham Knight
From movie costumes to entirely new characters, fans have shown their love for dedication to Batman: Arkham Knight with mods for new costumes.
Players also get to drive Bat-mobile for the first time. However, this quickly becomes more of a chore with all tank battles feeling repetitive. The storyline takes a slight dip from Arkham City and some missions can also feel underwhelming. Rocksteady still managed to introduce some great mechanics and add many more skills to Dark Knight’s repertoire. Batman: Arkham Knight is still one of the best-looking games with satisfying graphics and the detailing of the map just extends the long-term playing value.
2
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
A love letter to the Spider-Man comics fans
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the third installment to the Sony and Insomniac well-crafted Spider-Man video game series. It continues the story from the Miles Morales spin-off. Fans jump back to breathtaking New York City and fight the crime as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The fighting mechanics might seem similar to the past 2 games. However, there is a bunch of new stuff, like a Rage Meter with symbiote suit and a new skillset for Miles Morales. The boss battles are very interestingly enjoyable and don’t feel like a straightforward battle.

The game also has various side missions which are very Spider-Man-esque and give players a feel of how Spidey actually does things. The story features a good-old Peter Parker-Venom tussle and how he overcomes the symbiote. It is a classic Spider-Man game and every webhead would love to swing away in this game.
1
Batman Arkham City
Best Batman/DC game ever made
The Batman Arkham series is the Magnum Opus of the superhero video game genre. Among the four-game series, Arkham City is just the one that peaked to the absolute top with everything it offers. It has a great story with great boss battles such as against Mr. Freeze, where players have to change they can’t repeat their tactics, or battle against Ra’s Al Ghul. It brings back iconic combat mechanics that Rocksteady crafted in Arkham Asylum and further improves on it.
Even though newer additions like Arkham Knight introduced new features and improved graphics, Arkham City still holds up as the story is much tighter and combat isn’t as repetitive. It has a unique story with two primary plot points: stopping Hugo Strange’s evil plan for greater good, and dealing with his old nemesis, the Joker. From start to end, it makes players feel different types of emotions and is perfect in every sense. It is the best superhero game that everyone should definitely play.
