If you are tired of fighting on Super Earth, you now have the opportunity to take a little break on the bug front. Well, not necessarily a break, you’ll still have to squish lots of bugs, but at least you won’t have to look at those horrendous Meatballs for a while! Even though the Battle for Super Earth is still very much in progress, Helldivers 2 devs issued another Major Order, allowing bugdivers to contribute.
What Is the New Major Order in Helldivers 2?
The devs have recently started giving “dual” Major Orders. We can only guess that’s because the Battle for Super Earth has been raging for ten days. Players need to vent on other fronts and then come back to Super Earth, stronger than ever.
The first “side MO” sent the players to the bot front, and they returned with the DSS. Now, the bugdivers have an opportunity to help out as well. Helldivers didn’t get a briefing for the latest Major Order, it was presented in the form of a Strategic Opportunity.
It noted: “A former satellite technician on FORT UNION has successfully developed malware capable of disabling Illuminate technology. Long-range satellites on the planet are rapidly being outfitted to transmit the code to Illuminate spacecraft. Successful transmission could deal significant damage to the Illuminate Fleet. However, the planet is under threat of Terminid infestation. The planet must be defended in order for the plan to succeed”.
So, the new Major Order is quite simple! Helldivers have to defend Fort Union against 1 attack from the Terminids. At the time of writing this article, they have around 18 hours left. Furthermore, the “main” Major Order lasts for another day and twenty hours. So, you can expect the next couple of days to be brutal.
Bugdivers Took the Major Order Seriously
As you probably know, many Helldivers 2 players called out the bugdivers for not participating in the Battle for Super Earth Major Order. J.O.E.L gave the bugdivers an opportunity to participate, and they took it with both hands.
At the time of writing this, around 62k bugdivers are fighting on Fort Union. The planet is already around 45% defended, so if you need a break from the Squids, you’d better hurry up. At this rate, the planet will be defended in less than 12 hours total!
Of course, the Battle for Super Earth still rages on. More than 80k Helldivers are currently there. Prosperity City and Equality-On-Sea are the only remaining mega cities, and we’re sure Helldivers will do their best to hold them. Even though some leaks claimed Super Earth would fall (blasphemy!), we think Helldivers will manage to save it.
