Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Will Receive Another Remastered Map Before Season 1

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fans will have one additional remastered map to jump into before the start of Season 1, as Activision has confirmed that Nuketown 2025 will be making a return “shortly after launch.” The fan favorite map was also added to last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 just one week after its release, and it looks like developers Treyarch Studios may be following a similar pattern for the next installment in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

Nuketown has become a staple of the Black Ops subseries, so it’s no surprise to hear that the map will be returning in Black Ops 7. But for those who might be tired of the small, fast-paced antics of Nuketown, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will also be bringing back three other iconic maps from Black Ops 2. At launch, there will be a total of 18 multiplayer maps to check out, and 3 of them will be remasters, including Raid, Express, and Hijacked. Aside from Nuketown, it has yet to be confirmed what other maps will join the game post-launch, but Treyarch has revealed that fans can expect to find remastered maps from Black Ops 2 that haven’t been done before.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Confirms Nuketown Return

During the yearly COD Next event, which took place on September 30, Activision and Treyarch confirmed that Nuketown 2025 will return in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 “shortly after launch.” Although an exact date wasn’t shared, it’s possible that the studio will follow the same pattern as it did for Black Ops 6, releasing the map one week after the game’s launch. It should also be noted that this is not a new version of Nuketown, but rather the fan-favorite “2025” version that debuted in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in 2012.

While fans will need to wait until next month to go hands-on with Nuketown once again, they won’t need to wait much longer to play the next entry in the Call of Duty series. Those who have pre-ordered the title, or received a code through one of the many other promotions available, will be able to jump into the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta from October 2. Anyone who doesn’t have early access will still be able to check out the shooter on their platform of choice, but will need to wait for the open beta to kick off on October 5.

Those who partake in the beta can also earn some in-game rewards for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. As revealed during yesterday’s COD Next event, players who level up during the beta will be able to earn a Calling Card, Emote, Sticker, Weapon Blueprint, Operator Skins, and much more. Rewards are tied to certain levels, which means players will need to reach the Level 30 cap if they want to unlock all of the rewards and carry them into the full game on November 14.
