On the same day that Bluntman and Chronic have joined Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, we may have just gotten our first taste of who is next to join the growing list of operators in the FPS juggernaut.
There’s not really such a thing as a secret in CoD or any live-service game these days, for that matter, with leaks and data mines spilling the beans on what’s planned. The return to Verdansk in Warzone, for example, leaked several months earlier than it was even announced.
Well, the latest leak, should you choose to accept it, is that Ethan Hunt AKA Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible movie franchise will be the next CoD collab in 2025. This news comes from prolific and reliable leaker and reporter The Ghost of Hope, who has been correct and early on several similar stories, like the news of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is the finale of the decades-long action film franchise headlined by cruise, and the film is due out on May 23, which means the collab will likely come out around the same time if not shortly after.
While the BO6 and Warzone calendar is currently murky, it’s most likely that season three will be coming to an end and season four will be ready to begin in early June, which lends credence to Hope’s report. CoD has partnered with movie studios to promote films multiple times in the past, like adding skins from Dune: Part II and The Crow to name a few.
Cruise, who is somehow still doing wild action sequences at 62 years old, will be the least weird and out-of-place addition in CoD. The action star has been headlining movies for decades, so why shouldn’t he be in your Warzone squad, too?
If this mission truly is possible, expect to hear about it within the next few weeks. If it doesn’t happen in season four, it could be an addition as part of Season Three Reloaded, which is likely to arrive in early-to-mid May.
