At this point, it is no surprise that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the highest-rated original game of all time on the PS Store.
Created by a new studio from France, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released on April 24 and basically skyrocketed into fame. Both players and critics alike praised the game, and the developers were pretty shocked by the reception. The demand for the game was so high that it was sold out on Amazon pretty quickly. As for the rating, it is one of the highest-rated games of 2025, and, according to the PlayStation Store, it looks like it is the highest-rated original game of all time.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is the Highest-Rated Original Game of All Time on the PS Store
Some diligent fans took up the task of comparing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to other, high-rated games. And, as it turns out, Clair Obscur is the highest-rated game on the PlayStation Store.

It has an average rating of 4.92 (sometimes 4.91, it tends to fluctuate), meaning it is even rated higher than Split Fiction, Baldur’s Gate 3, Balatro, or Stardew Valley.

Naturally, the fans only have words of praise for the game, with DeeMayCry saying: “Absolutely insane how this game came seemingly out of nowhere and swept everyone off their feet. Games like these make me proud to be a gamer,” and CarlLight adding: “Imagine if the trolls and bots (1%) didn’t give it a stupid 1/5 rating.”, which is reated to the fact that haters decided to try and review bomb the game. They didn’t do much, but still, the rating could’ve been even higher.
The game gets a better rating with each passing day, so who knows what the rating will be in the future, as more and more people experience it. What we do know is that there is a realistic chance we may get a sequel or at least a DLC. The future is bright for Sandfall Interactive!
