Get ready for some Wheee! news, as the Clair Obscur Expedition 33 team is considering making some official Esquie plushies.
In a game full of so many compelling characters, it is truly amazing that a French version of Baymax is the most popular one. But who can say no to the adorable Esquie? Even though he is known for an occasional spark of wisdom now and then, his kindness and huggableness are his most notable traits. People would most definitely benefit from having a small Esquie of their own, and it looks like some plushie toys started appearing. Are they licensed or a scam?
Official Esquie Plushies May Become a Reality, says Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Team
We are seriously lacking some Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 merch. Even the Lumiere/Collectors editions sold out pretty quickly. While t-shirts are almost a standard nowadays, we feel that Clair Obscur deserves more interesting merchandise. Maybe some figurines, or even plushies? Plushies of Esquie, for example?
Devs Warn About Possible Scammers
On that note, some websites started appearing, allegedly selling Esquie plushes for a considerable price. If you take a closer look, it does look a bit shady and is most definitely run by scammers, looking to capitalize on the hype. Nothing new there, but some less perceptive Clair Obscur fans may end up swindled, and no one (apart from the scammers) would want that.
Especially the devs, as they have also noticed this trend. In a recent X post, the team stated that some unofficial, third-party websites started offering Esquie plushies and added that they are NOT officially licensed by Sandfall or any of their partners, and they warn their fans to be extra careful with these, as they are most likely scams.
Official Esquie Plushies??
But, while we are on the topic of Esquie plushies, Sandfall added this:
“But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!”
No one took the hearts of the whole community faster than Esquie, and this giant marshmallow, as Verso calls him, really does deserve a plushie. And we have zero doubts that the community will go crazy about him, and one player stated: “I feel very WHEEEEE about this announcement of an official plushie! Please make sure to have enough stock, there is a high demand :D”
