After gloriously failing the previous Major Order, Helldivers are sent back on the bug front. It seems that the bugdivers‘ efforts may have helped, as a major scientific discovery was made. The phenomenal scientists at the Xenoentomology Center on Turing had a breakthrough. However, to continue their research, they are in dire need of some Samples. Thus, Helldivers 2 players received a Major Order sending them to collect Samples.
Collecting Samples for the Major Order Will Help a Scientific Breakthrough
The latest Major Order dropped on January 24. As always, it arrived with a lengthy briefing. In it, it’s revealed that the scientists proved that the Gloom-induced mutations drastically increase Element 710 production in lab conditions. According to the scientists, some specimens yielded 10x more E-710 than the control.
Obviously, this could mean that the Gloom could be a huge source of energy. Scientists could be able to achieve stuff they couldn’t have dreamed of. But, before we all get carried away, it’s important to take things step by step.
So, first of all, the scientists have to double-check and confirm their results. Also, since the Gloom is impenetrable, the scientists will have to invent some Gloom-resistant technology. This brings us to the Helldivers’ current task.
Helldivers 2 players have to collect Samples from Gloom-adjacent Terminid planets for the Major Order. To be precise, scientists have asked for 22 million Common Samples from Erata Prime and 15 million Rare Samples from Gacrux. Also, it is of utmost importance that Super Earth holds Fenrir III when the MO expires.
In addition to that, Joel issued an in-game advisory about counterfeit Samples. It states: “Counterfeit sample detection measures have been strengthened since many such samples were received in a previous Order. The measures are anticipated to be sufficient. All personnel are encouraged to do their part: remain vigilant for un-Democratic attempts to steal from the prosperity of all, and report any indications of such behavior to their Democracy Officer immediately”.
Helldivers 2 Players Pledge to Collect All the Samples They Can
Unsurprisingly, Helldivers are ready to jump right into action. Players loved the change in pace, as for the first time in a while the order revolved around something other than just defending or liberating planets. Also, this MO is a lovely reminder to all players that you should always pick up Samples, even if you are maxed out.
Of course, some players pointed out that this would be a good time for Arrowhead to drop some content in which the players could invest the Samples. UpstairsFee6965 noted: “This would be a perfect time to release a new level of ship upgrades”.
It’s also the perfect time for all of the players who haven’t fully upgraded their ships to do so. We truly hope this MO will be a success, as we can’t wait to peek at what’s actually in the Gloom. So, we’ll be fighting as much as we can, will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
