College Football 26 Reveals Patch Notes for July 24 Title Update

EA has revealed patch notes for the EA Sports College Football 26 July 24 title update, which will bring an extensive number of bug fixes and adjustments to the game. The new EA Sports College Football 26 update also makes some changes based on the July 17 update, which allows gamers to change a player’s position within their current position group without penalty to their skill caps.

The College Football series returned after more than a decade with the release of last year’s EA Sports College Football 25. Some fans were skeptical about the series becoming yearly again, but EA put an end to fears about a possible hiatus when the company announced EA Sports College Football 26 back in January. EA Sports College Football 26 was released on July 10 to positive critical reception, with the game now sitting at an 85 Metascore on Metacritic at the time of this writing. There have been some technical and gameplay issues that have persisted since launch, but the EA Sports team has been hard at work releasing new College Football 26 updates.

The patch notes for the EA Sports College Football 26 July 24 title update revealed a slew of changes and bug fixes that will be made to gameplay, Dynasty, Road to Glory, Ultimate Team, and overall presentation. A variety of game stability improvements were made alongside tuning and animation improvements to physics-based tackling. There were multiple bug fixes that ensure animations, stunts, and other plays don’t result in players being stuck or frozen in place. Moreover, the update builds on top of the changes that were made in the College Football 26 July 17 update. The chance of rain has been reduced in Dynasty and Road to Glory games, and an issue that caused cold weather and snow to appear during warm weather climates in playoff games was fixed, among other issues. An issue that caused the College Football 26 pre-order bonus to apply at the start of the second season after redshirting was also fixed.

Further, the new title update will introduce Leaderboard Campaigns and Event Lineup Building challenges to College Football 26. Leaderboard Campaigns are new limited-time competitions tied to specific programs that place players on a leaderboard, and players can enjoy this new content from the Ultimate Team main menu once the update is live. Players also have the option to pick Head-to-Head or Solo play in Leaderboard Campaigns, and a player’s performance on objectives like points scored or wins determines their overall leaderboard placement. On the other hand, Event Lineup Building challenges are new types of events that call on players to build their best College Football 26 teams within sets of team requirements.

Lastly, the EA Sports developers made some adjustments to College Football 26’s overall presentation. Adjustments were made to the First Down Rousers at Michigan, the Gator chomp on-field celebration, Nebraska’s “Throw Bones” celebration, Missouri State and Delaware’s Bowl and Playoff End Zones, Texas State’s cannon touchdown celebration, and certain in-game scenes to ensure there’s no immersion-breaking glitches or camera obstructions.

These updates were added last week to Online Dynasty files, this update now brings them to Offline Dynasty files:

  • Position Changes

    • You can now change a player’s position within their current position group without penalty to their skill caps. You’ll be free to swap positions within these groupings:

      • Running Back (FB, RB)
      • Offensive Line (LT, LG, C, RG, RT)
      • Defensive Line (LEDG, REDG, DT)
      • Linebacker (SAM, MIKE, WILL)
      • Defensive Back (CB, FS, SS)

    • Athlete (ATH) Recruits can now set their initial position without impact to their skill group caps.
    • A player’s new skill caps are now more strongly influenced by their Development Trait and school year. Younger players and those with higher Development Traits will have higher skill caps at their new position.
  • Addressed a Coach Point exploit when retiring and then creating a new coach character.
  • Reduced the impact of the Reach Your Potential ability (Motivator Tier 1) for better coach ability and recruiting balance.

    • Note: This affects the influence given to recruits when a player at their position hits a skill group cap.

Road To Glory

  • Fixed an issue where the pre-order bonus would be applied at the start of your second season after redshirting

Ultimate Team

  • Campaigns:

    • Leaderboard Campaigns are new, limited-time competitions tied to specific programs that will place you on a leaderboard with a small group of players, making every game impactful. These will be available right from the Ultimate Team main menu, and whether you prefer Head-to-Head or Solo play, your performance on key objectives like points scored or wins determines your leaderboard placement. These will vary with each program that campaigns are associated with and what you earn will vary depending on the tier that you unlock.
  • Event Lineup Building challenges:

    • We are introducing new types of events that will challenge players to build their best team within a set of team requirements, in order to enter program specific events. As well as an easier way for users to alter their lineups to meet these requirements.

      • E.G – Build your strongest ALL-SEC team and take on other players in the H2H Conference Clash Event.
    • Head to the Event screen to find information on currently active Live Events. From here, you can build your best available lineup for this event with a few button presses.
    • Directly from the Lineup screen, you will be able to browse which events are currently available and get information as to each event’s requirements. If your lineup meets the requirements, you’re good to go. If you have holes in your roster, it will be identified for you and you will be given paths to acquire the missing pieces.
  • We have updated the progress & rewards screens for players so that they are now easier to understand.

Presentation

  • Made an adjustment to the First Down Rousers at Michigan.
  • Fixed an issue allowing an opposing player to participate in the Gator chomp on-field celebration.
  • Fixed an issue so that Nebraska’s ‘Throw Bones’ celebration is used only on defense.

  • Fixed an issue where the Texas State cannon touchdown celebration was in the wrong location.
  • Fixed an issue where camera obstructions would occur during certain scenes.
