In addition to rating Schrifts and Volts today I’ll show you the best Quincy weapons in Type Soul. There’s a lot of great options that come with true combos or just really powerful crit moves in general. Note that some are specifically just for Hakuda builds which I’ll mention when we get to them. Here’s my Type Soul Quincy weapon tier list and guide.

Quincy Weapon Tier List in Type Soul
The best Quincy weapons in Type Soul are in the S-Tier due to their combo potentials and mix-ups. That said, the A-Tiers are a close second with something like Cang Du Claws also having true combos that land with a bit more effort. B-Tiers are decent options without much combo potential and C and D-Tiers are underpowered for duels with the D-Tiers being unusable. This Type Soul Quincy weapon tier list also goes into each weapon individually below so check out my guides on them.
SR Weapons: If you’re a Soul Reaper player check out their weapons tier list.
Arrancar Weapons: I have a similar Arrancar weapon tier list as well.
S-Tier Quincy Weapons
S-Tier Weapons | Why S-Tier |
---|---|
![]() Reichweite |
• Great M1 speed and range on Reichweite but it’s mostly one of the best weapons due to its two crits that have separate cooldowns • The ground crit is one of the best crits in the game because it has a delayed second hit that guardbreaks so you can crit, do any other move and your opponent is left waiting for the second hit which is amazing pressure • The aerial hit has a large hitbox and it’s a decent pressure tool but its main use is to combo after the ground crit for a third delayed attack • One of the best Quincy weapons |
![]() Kehren |
• As good as the SR Rapier due to its speed and the dash crit • The crit also has a second attack that you can follow up with shortly after the first which guardbreaks and you don’t have to do it right away which allows mix-ups to confuse the enemy • Also, after 5 successful parries the crit becomes a double AOE slash that’s actually really good with the Overkill Schrift for immense damage |
![]() Karate |
• The best Hakuda weapon on Quincy • The M1s are really fast unlike Unstable • The crit has a massive AOE damage cyclone that launches enemies so you can combo it with Hakuda moves • Easy S-Tier for Hakuda |
![]() Cutlass |
• There’s so much utility with the Cutlass crit because you can aim it to dodge offensively or defensively depending on your needs • It’s mainly good for offense because the crit guardbreaks and gives you 50% true damage for a short period which you can cash in with the really good M1s • Overall not an OP but a very flexible weapon for mobility and great damage |
![]() Great Lance |
• One of the best mobility weapons that Quincies get because the crit dashes you forward and with each use it gets faster until the final empowered version dashes to every enemy • The empowered crit also guardbreaks which is a great combo starter and the M1s are fast for mix ups • A really great weapon that gets better with each crit use |
![]() Warden Gauntlets |
• Warden is a skill-based Hakuda weapon that relies on you knowing what the crit can combo into because the crit punch attaches a chain which you can reactive to pull enemies • The main combos that make this S-Tier are the chain pull into Gehenna, Catching Dragon or Tora Reach (Plus a ton of other moves, these are just the best) • The reason these combos are so strong is that as long as you land the first hit, the chain pull is both unblockable and goes through iFrames |

A-Tier Quincy Weapons
A-Tier Weapons | Why A-Tier |
---|---|
![]() Yamato |
• As with other Yamato variants this one has good damage fast M1s • The crit is a multihit slash combo that guardbreaks so if you hit one you’re hitting them all and it stuns at the end for a great combo extender • You can easily chain it into Flash Cut or Flash Fakeout or any move that can follow up on a minor knockback |
![]() Cang Du Claws |
• Make sure to run this above 20 Hakuda for the optimal crit dash range • That said, it’s a Hakuda weapon with a good dash stun crit that starts combos really well • It’s not OP but that combo starter crit is enough to make this one of the better weapons for Quincies |
![]() Legacy Murasama |
• Frontloaded M1s with the first two being really fast and the rest kind of slow but that’s playable because you can do the fast M1s, feint, and do them again • The crit is amazing on the Quincy version with the massive frontal slam down that has tons of range and a follow up that cripples so it’s great for pressure |
![]() Spalten |
• Really good M1s here and the crit is a guardbreak dash with multiple slashes that’s a really great combo starter or extender • I put it in A instead of S because while the crit is powerful, it’s start-up is kind of telegraphed so on low ping it’s easy to parry • That said, if someone has high ping this is one of the best crits in the game |
![]() Jugram |
• Only A-Tier for Balance Schrift builds because it boosts Order gain from M1s and Crits • The crit is a ranged projectile that bounces around enemies and this goes well with Balance because Balance is better for teamfights so the A-Rank assumes you’re teamfighting |

B-Tier Quincy Weapons
B-Tier Weapons | Why B-Tier |
---|---|
![]() Schwert |
• Schwert has a good ranged Crit that deals great damage and guardbreaks so this isn’t a bad weapon option • The reason I put it B-Tier rather than higher is that the crit doesn’t really combo into anything • You can’t launch the projectile and then follow up like with the Arrancar Nell Lance because the projectile is so fast so it doesn’t set anything up • Still it’s overall a good option if you need a ranged option |
![]() Oathbreaker |
• Oathbreaker had so much potential but it’s awkward crits and slow M1s put it in B-Tier • The reason is that the crit has two hits where the first guardbreaks and the second knocks them out of the guardbreak stun so you can’t follow up with anything • You would essentially have to land the first one, turn around and miss the second one and then do a move you want • Though the crit does boost damage, the M1s are just too slow so Oathbreaker isn’t useless or bad but it’s just so awkward to use I had to put it in B-Tier |
![]() Antithesis |
• This is just a middle of the pack decent weapon with good M1s and a decent crit for starting combos across a distance since jumping extends the dash • It doesn’t have any true combos or OP moves so it’s B-Tier |
![]() Quilqe Saber |
• Similar to Schwert where you only use it if you need more ranged options with the crit on something like a Kido build • Otherwise the crit doesn’t really set anything up or combo into anything so B-Tier for Quilge |
C-Tier Quincy Weapons
C-Tier Weapons | Why C-Tier |
---|---|
![]() Siphons Wretch |
• The support weapon that’s not that good in 1v1s but more for teamfights • Overall it can be useful with the shielding effects from Crits but it just sucks for duels and in terms of overall power which this tier list is about |
![]() Unstable |
• Just an all around okay Hakuda combo weapon • It’s in C-Tier because of the slow M1s and the fact that even though the crit has hyper armor and guardbreak, the slow wind-up makes it really easy to parry • If you do hit it, it does guardbreak so it’s not useless but it’s not that great either |
![]() Shadesworn |
• The reason Shadesworn isn’t that good is that its crit is like a Souls-like boss attack with a slow wind-up, predictable parry timing and then you stand still for a short moment • All of this means that an experienced player can parry chain you and then punish you or dodge out of the way • That said, it’s not D-Tier because the M1s are pretty decent and if you can combo into the crit on a stunned enemy it does decent damage |
D-Tier Quincy Weapons
D-Tier Weapons | Why D-Tier |
---|---|
![]() Quincy Glock |
• I’m just subjectively not a fan of ranged weapons because there are so many movement tools in Type Soul for you to close the distance with and apply pressure • If you’re in close range melee with the Glock you’re at a huge disadvantage because of the slow wind-ups on moves • This is IMO a weapon to avoid with Quincy |
![]() Murasama |
• A really bad crit that can be slow with hyper armor or faster with no hyper but in both versions it deals bad damage and the animation takes forever making it easy to dodge and parry • The crit doesn’t combo and the M1s also kind of suck but the first two are decently fast • Still, I would skip this |
![]() Abject |
• The Abject went from A to D because it no longer autotracks so you now have to aim which is really hard to do and easy to dodge • You can easily parry it or dodge so it’s not really as reliable when you could autotrack it so you could movestack • Probably one of the worst weapons in the game now and for sure the worst Abject variant |
