Ah, hunky men and sci-fi, is there anything more a girl can wish for? Well, possibly! Even though Love and Deepspace remains extremely popular, more and more players are voicing their dislike of the “optional” gacha mechanic.
LADS Offers the Ultimate Female-Friendly Experience
This game is a relatively new installment of the Mr. Love series. It launched in January 2024. Ever since, it has captured the hearts of over 50 million players. And, honestly, we get it. Unlike so many other games, this one lets women take the lead.
You are a Space Hunter who gets to fight, but also gets to enjoy the finer things in life (i.e. hunky men). You can have your cake and eat it too, you don’t have to choose between your career and your relationship(s). And, this game paved the way for other female-friendly games, such as Infinity Nikki.
Given that the game was designed with women in mind, there aren’t many (if any) toxic men explaining the game or berating women for enjoying playing a game. And that’s a huge plus. The LADS community is amazing, players helping each other and sharing their experiences in a safe space.
Now, technically speaking, Love and Deepspace is a F2P (free-to-play) game with an optional gacha mechanic. However, as with many other games that include this mechanic, it’s hard to avoid it if you want the full experience.

The Gacha Mechanic Sours the Love and Deepspace Players’ Experiences
All the way back, when the game dropped, there were lots of freebies, and you could have enough Diamonds for all the pulls. But, as time went by, the Diamonds became sparse, and, if you didn’t buy more, you had very limited pulls.
More and more players are reporting how unsatisfied they have been in the last couple of months. If you check out the reviews for Android and iOS users, you’ll see that players usually give either 5 stars or just 1 star. The majority of bad reviews include a complaint about the gacha mechanic, and these reviews have started to affect the overall score.
One player noted: “I really like this game. The story is great, and the graphics are fantastic and keep getting better. However, it increasingly becomes more tedious to play as an F2P player. There are barely any ways to farm Diamonds, which are arguably the most important aspect of the game because of the constant banners coming out. And there isn’t much of the story to play through since it takes time to develop, so it starts to become boring, and I don’t feel like putting much effort into playing because of it”.
Banners do come out constantly, and pulling costs a lot. One player, CapPosted, calculated how much irl money one might need to spend. Depending on how lucky you were, and what you wanted to collect, you had to spend between $107,83 and a whopping $887,23. And that’s just for the Myth and Myth Re-run Banner.
Hopefully, the devs will come up with a system to farm Diamonds, because the players will eventually get tired of having to pay so much for pulls. In the meantime, you can always use some codes to help you out in a bind.
