For a while now, the players have been asking for more variety among the Vanguards and Strategists. It just seems that the current options are limited, and a lot more could be achieved with an extended roster. Thankfully, the Marvel Rivals community is full of ideas on how to add some variety among the Vanguard heroes, how about having a purely flying character to make things interesting?
Marvel Rivals Players Discuss If a Flying Tank Would Be Viable
Do you think a flying tank would be viable? Or would it be impossible for the character to deliver on all of their duties? As you know, Vanguards should be suited for the frontline, but how would a flying character achieve that?
One player, SomeNotTakenName, noted: “Tanks do 2 main things: physically block damage and create space either by pushing enemies away or using cc to trap them. You can feasibly do both from the air. A barrier doesn’t necessarily have to be glued to your character. A deployable barrier can provide team utility. The high vantage points could be used to place barriers or pickup buffs for allies or traps for enemies”.
Another player, blue23454, added: “The goal would be to draw enemy attention up and away from the team on the ground. That or, if they keep adding flyers, to be a viable tank for them”.
So, a flying Vanguard hero could theoretically be a viable option in Marvel Rivals, according to players. Truth be told, we would love to see it. Especially if more flying heroes were added, so the battle could be taken up to the air.
Who Could Be a Flying Vanguard?
Now that the if part received an answer, how about who? It wouldn’t make sense for many Vanguard heroes to be able to fly, so which ones should be granted that privilege? According to players, there are a couple of obvious choices.
First, the one probably everyone thought of – Magneto. Grey_Bush_502 noted: “Magneto should definitely have something at least similar to Strange where he can levitate. Uses up the rings on his back”.
The next one was the second most popular answer – War Machine (James Rhodes). ItzCarsk stated: “I could easily see War Machine just being a slow-flying mobile unit that mostly acts like a floating punisher turret. Drawing aggro and maybe giving bonus health or damage reduction for being in proximity”.
These are both good choices! Do you have anyone else in mind? Marvel Rivals has only been out for two months, so we suppose a lot more is coming. We look forward to seeing what the devs have planned for the future, it’ll be amazing, for sure.
