Young Monk’s Request is one of the early side quests in Crimson Desert that will take players to the magical Pororin Village and retrieve Mystical Pine Mushrooms. While the quest sounds straightforward, players will have trouble entering the Pororin Village if they haven’t formed a formal alliance with the Shai. Even then, entering the cave that holds Mystical Pine Mushrooms is challenging. Here’s a quick guide to help you complete the Young Monk’s Request quest in Crimson Desert.

How to Start Young Monk’s Request Quest in Crimson Desert
To start the Young Monk’s Request quest in Crimson Desert, players will need to wait till they finally unlock the Howling Hill Greymanes Camp in Chapter 3. Once they do that, head to the Coalvale Workshop to the east of the Howling Hill camp.
Once you enter the small settlement, you’ll get the option to talk to a young monk who’s ventured all the way from Jijeong Temple to search for a Mystical Mushroom that grows in the area.
So, players will need to go to the Pororin Village to retrieve the Mystical Mushroom for the Young Monk and complete the quest. However, the village is a restricted area, and Kliff will be shot with sleeping darts whenever he tries to enter. To gain access to the Pororin Village, players will need to first complete the Unreachable Village quest in Crimson Desert.
I’ve tried brute-forcing the Young Monk’s Request by entering the village without completing the Unreachable Village quest, but I was always shot down by the Shai Children even while inside the mushroom cave.
How to Get Mystical Pine Mushrooms in Crimson Desert (Young Monk’s Request)
Once you’ve completed the Unreachable Village quest, you can now enter the village and reach the location of the mushroom cave. There’s a wooden pole with plants hanging on it that you can spot from afar, which will make it easier for you to locate the mouth of the cave.
Make sure to stock up on arrows, as you’ll need them to venture into the mushroom cave for the Young Monk’s Request in Crimson Desert.
Crouch down and slowly enter the cave until you see a big mushroom that starts to glow red. Take out your bow and shoot the mushroom to get rid of it. There are multiple mushrooms within the cave, like this one that you’ll need to shoot with your bow, to make the interior of the cave safe for exploration.
At the end of the cave, you’ll find the Mystical Pine Mushrooms scattered around. You can pick up multiple of these mushrooms, but you’ll only need one to complete the Young Monk’s Request in Crimson Desert. Since you don’t need to return to the Young Monk at the Coalvale Workshop, this will complete the quest and reward players with 5x Pine Mushrooms, which can be used as an ingredient for recipes.
