Dante and Vergil return in season 2 of Devil May Cry, coming in 2026

Dante and Vergil will clash in the war between humans and demons

Netflix’s Devil May Cry animated series returns with an anticipated season 2. After the first installment made waves in 2025, the series was renewed just one week after its debut. An official news release from Netflix now confirms that season 2 will premiere on May 12, 2026.

An adaptation of the iconic video game franchise from Capcom, Devil May Cry comes from Adi Shankar of Castlevania and Captain Laserhawk fame. The show heavily rewrites the lore and story from the video games. In the first season, we meet Dante, a human-demon hybrid who works as a mercenary and bounty hunter. He is pulled into a massive global crisis when the White Rabbit, a demonic terrorist, steals Force Edge, the sword owned by the legendary demon Sparda, who separated the human and demon realms, and also turns out to be Dante’s father.

In the last episode, we also learn that Dante’s long-lost brother, Vergil, is actually alive and serving the evil ruler of the demon realm, Mundus. The two brothers will clash in season 2 in the midst of a war between worlds. Johnny Yong Bosch will reprise his role as Dante, while Robbie Daymond voices Vergil, and Scout Taylor-Compton returns as Mary Ann Arkham, “Lady”. I wonder if the Limp Bizkit-powered opening will also return.

The series honors the bombastic attitude of the video game franchise, so if you have a thing for cocky one-liners and explosive fight sequences, don’t miss Devil May Cry season 2 when it lands on Netflix in May 2026.
