Dataminers think they’ve discovered even more proof that Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Dataminers believe they’ve discovered more evidence that Monster Hunter Wilds could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

Delving into the backend of Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4, a group of Chinese dataminers believe they’ve found references to a Switch 2 port, including information about wireless multiplayer, graphical presets, and reportedly “300 detailed parameters across four platforms: PS5, PC, Xbox Series, and Switch 2”.

This image, if real, suggests Monster Hunter Wilds on the Switch 2 will run at 30 FPS in DLSS mode, while this one – again, if real – shows several references to the word “Switch” in the source code, including the sentence: “Bring Nintendo Switch 2 consoles together to create or join a lobby using local wireless communication”.

This image shows a screenshot of the Switch 2 presets loaded on a PC and reportedly states: “The shadow quality preset for the Switch 2’s docked ‘Graphics Mode’ is higher than the PC’s ‘Very Low’ preset. In docked mode, ‘Graphics Mode’ outputs at 1080p”. While not indicative of final performance, it at least gives us an idea of what to expect.

Rumours have been bubbling right across the holiday period, but some dataminers have even produced a video to show off how they think the gameplay will work in handheld mode, which you can see below, courtesy of UnivNintendo:

Right now, there’s no formal word from Capcom that the game could be making the jump to Switch 2, but Capcom has long been a supporter of Nintendo’s platform. It may be that the Switch port was paused until last month’s Title Update 4 rolled out, along with that all-important optimisation roadmap for the game’s performance on PC.

These issues have plagued the game since Monster Hunter Wilds launched in February 2025, and whilst Capcom has acknowledged them, the publisher has been slow on pushing out updates that addressed player concerns. This has led to review bombing, less than stellar sales for the game outside its launch window, and falls in Capcom’s share price. It’s plausible, then, that Capcom’s waiting for the PC version to improve before adding another platform into the mix. Maybe we’ll find out more at a Nintendo Direct presentation soon…
