Deals for today: The best of Alienware’s Black Friday in July sale

Alienware is running Black Friday in July, dropping a bunch of desktops and laptops down to some of the lowest prices I’ve seen all summer. Doesn’t matter if you’re after a decked-out Area‑51 tower with an RTX 5090 or just looking for a leaner Aurora machine for everyday gaming, there’s something on offer. And it’s not just desktops either. A handful of 16 and 18-inch gaming laptops are trimmed down by hundreds, which is rare for models packing things like 5070 Ti or 5080 graphics

If I was swapping out my old desktop, this would definitely get a look. It’s not completely ridiculous spec-wise but still punches way above most setups. 5080 and Ultra 7 is plenty for what I do most days.

This feels like one of those rigs where you just never have to think about specs again. I wouldn’t need 64 GB RAM personally, but I get why someone would want the headroom for everything running at once.

Not everyone needs bleeding edge. I’d probably go for something like this if I wanted to keep things tidy performance-wise but didn’t fancy blowing all my upgrade money at once.

I couldn’t justify dropping this much on a machine unless I really needed it, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t look fun to mess around with. That 5090 is a bit wild.

That’s a proper show-off machine. I don’t need this much grunt, but if I was building for someone who edits 8K video or streams at silly bitrates, I’d probably point them at it.

This is the sort of thing I’d nudge a mate towards if they just want to get on with gaming and not fuss over parts lists. Good spec, sensible price, won’t choke on modern stuff.

Not flash, but fair value. I’d probably suggest this to someone putting together their first gaming rig. It’ll do the job, even if you’re not chasing ultra settings all the time.

This is more my kind of upper-end rig. Big power, but not so over the top that it feels like you’re paying for things you’ll never use. 5080’s more than enough for anything I play.

If I needed a travel machine for work and gaming on the side, I’d probably pick something like this. Not the flashiest GPU but enough to keep up with most stuff without burning through battery or cash.

Feels like a good middle ground for a gaming laptop. I wouldn’t haul this everywhere, but for LAN nights or propping up on the desk for a few days? Wouldn’t think twice.

Kind of overkill spec for a 5060, but it does mean you get all the perks like a faster display and chunkier storage. I’d probably sit on the fence a bit but can see the appeal.

This one’s in that weird spot between desktop and laptop. I don’t reckon I’d lug it about, but if I wanted a desk-free setup with decent horsepower, I’d be looking at something like this.

Feels like the type of laptop I’d only get if I was really done with desktops. Big display, big GPU, fair bit of weight to it I’m guessing too.

I’d probably look at this if I was swapping out an older gaming laptop. 240Hz screen’s tidy and the 5070 Ti means you’re not exactly short on frame rate either.

This looks like a pretty full-on bit of kit for a laptop. If I had a spare desk slot but didn’t want a whole tower setup, this’d probably cover me fine.
