Healing is essential to Death Stranding 2 to make sure that Sam never falters in his mission and dies. Dying is never pretty, especially in a world infested with BTs where a voidout could occur, and cause quite the damage to the world, more damage than there already is, as Sam ventures across continents.

Death Stranding 2: How to Restore Stamina
Sam’s got plenty of walking to do in Death Stranding 2, so it’s vital that players know exactly how to restore and upgrade their stamina & endurance.
If players want to avoid a voidout and last a little longer in fights against BTs, MULEs, and other horrors that Sam will face, then they are going to need to know how to heal in Death Stranding 2, especially since health is just as important as the cargo they carry as a Porter.
How to Heal in Death Stranding 2
There are 3 ways that players can regain lost health, but the most efficient way to heal is through Blood Bags. Blood Bags can be found while exploring, but more reliably, Blood Bags can be crafted for 15 Chiral Crystals and 10 Resins at any bunker/safehouse that’s connected to the Chiral Network. Blood Bags will replenish Sam’s health as it begins to fall, which is great for when players are fighting MULEs and BTs, and it’s especially great since blood bullets that are used to damage BTs will be taken directly from the blood bag instead of Sam’s health.
Players can also eat Cryptobiotes to heal in Death Stranding 2, and these can be found almost anywhere in the vast open world. Cryptobiotes swim in the air around red coral rocks, and they have their own map marker to look out for. Players can scan for them with R1 and hit the Triangle button when they are near to capture them, where they will then be able to hold Right on the D-Pad to select the bottom right icon in the equipment wheel to eat one for health.
The third way that players can heal in Death Stranding 2 is through resting in Private Rooms. Once players have gotten a full rest in a safe bed, they will wake up with their blood replenished and their health restored so that they can go out into the world without feeling so faint.
