Death Stranding 2: How to Secure Your Cargo

Death Stranding 2: How to Secure Your Cargo

Sam’s journey in the first installment of Death Stranding follows him as he sets up the Chiral Network while transporting all sorts of cargo. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach follows a similar approach, where you are tasked with delivering cargo in Mexico. Sometimes, the cargo players carry can exceed the weight limit, and one fall can damage the contents inside.

While you can’t protect your cargo to that extent, you can secure it, making the journey much easier. Here is everything you need to know about securing cargo in Death Stranding 2.

After gathering enough materials, the cargo items on your back can become unstable, and a single fall may cause them to scatter, forcing you to pick up each piece and rearrange everything to make balancing easier for Sam. Even though this might not sound like a major problem, losing your stamina while crossing water will result in all the cargo on your back getting swept away by the current. Tying down the cargo is the smart thing to do in such situations, and that’s where the Strand comes into play.

First, you must hold down the Triangle button on your controller to drop your backpack. After that, press the right D-pad which opens up a radial menu that displays all the weapons and tools currently accessible. Toward the bottom of the wheel is the option to equip the Strand. Once selected, you can aim at the backpack, which should prompt the option to tie it down.

It’s important to note that this is not an indestructible form of protection for the cargo. If you’re not careful and happen to slip multiple times, the Strand will eventually break, causing all of your cargo to fall out.

Tied-down cargo can also be placed in the vehicles you unlock as you progress further in the game.
