Assassin’s Creed Shadows X Attack on Titan event features cool new cosmetic outfits, new weapons, and a meaty quest called Descent. After saving Ada from captivity in Hanazono Castle, she’ll ask Naoe and Yasuke to join her as she heads underground to rescue Gautwin from becoming a tool for Lord Albrecht’s schemes. Here’s a complete walkthrough for the quest and how you can claim an exclusive katana for Naoe at the end.

After saving Ada in the Beyond the Walls quest, players will follow her through the trap door, which will play a cutscene. Once the cutscene concludes, head through the crack in the wall next to the tool refill box. Make sure to refill your tools over here, as you’ll need your throwing knives for the section ahead.

Right as you exit the crack, you’ll spot a cavern crawlspace on the left. Go prone as Naoe and crawl through the space till you reach the other side.

Follow the caverns till you arrive in front of a space in the wall with red explosive barrels on the other side. Throw your knives at the barrels to open up the barricaded door and let Yasuke in.

Make sure to open up the chest near the hole in the wall to get the Training Corps Emblem Banner (hideout decor).

After blowing up the first set of barrels, head back to the main cavern, and you’ll find a new pathway to the left that’s opened up. Keep following the cavern until you see that the crystals block the path ahead. Simply hit the crystals with Naoe’s weapons to open up the path forward.

Keep following the path until you descend into a crystal cavern, where you’ll need to use the grapple to get across the gap. At the end of the platform, use the mineral deposits to reach the wall of crystals ahead and grab the ledge. You can use this wall to scale to the upper platforms.

From here, cross over the beams and head inside the open doorway. Follow the twisting and turning cave till you arrive at another hole in the wall with explosive barrels on the other side. Throw a knife at the barrels to blow them up, and return to the main crystal cavern to see a newly opened pathway across the beams.

Now you’ll cross a large chasm over a rope and enter a crawlspace to hear a conversation between Lord Albrecht and Ritter. Nothing special to do in this section but to simply pass through. However, at the end, you’ll reach an even larger crystal cavern that you’ll need to traverse.

It’s recommended to follow the image above and use the crystalline wall to first grab the chest under the platform to get the Garrison Banner (outdoor cosmetic). Once you’re done, use the same path to head back up, and jump over the gap to the right to progress head.

In the cavern ahead, you’ll come across a final set of explosive barrels that you need to throw Naoe’s throwing knives at to blow up the crystal wall and open the path ahead. Now, keep following the path until you come across two corpses with an important note that you can pick up.

Now, traverse your way back to the main crystal cavern and use the grapple point to reach the newly opened pathway. Keep following it until you come across two enemies that you can quietly assassinate. Now, you’ll head up the path and enter a crack in the wall to enter the underground crystalline cave, reminiscent of the one that Eren was trapped in.

The underground crystal cave is the final section of the Descent quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows X Attack on Titan collab. Players will need to use the grappling hook to move from platform to platform, taking down fanatics along the way, and reach Gautwin chained on the platform.

Once you reach Gautwin, you’ll need to time your grapple jump just right to land on his platform; otherwise, you’ll fall down and will need to attempt the jump again. Once you free Gautwin from his shackles, a cutscene will play, which will transition the gameplay from Naoe to Yasuke, as he’ll need to take down Lord Albrecht and his fanatic followers.

The Lord Albrecht boss fight is pretty straightforward, as you’ll first need to prioritize taking down enemies around the main boss, especially the ranged ones far back. Once all enemies around Lord Albrecht are defeated, use a combination of parries and abilities to take Lord Albrecht down.

Taking down Lord Albrecht will initiate a cutscene and a chase sequence, which will require players to escape the chasing titan out of the crystal cave. Escaping the cavern will mark the end of the Descent quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows x Attack on Titan, and players will receive the Cavern Shard katana as a reward.
