Dispatch Synergy Pairs Tier List

Dispatch Synergy Pairs Tier List

While it is primarily known for its emotional and often heartwarming choose-your-own-adventure story, Dispatch still has a solid gameplay loop as well. Players control former hero Robert “Mecha Man” Robertson and play the role of dispatcher at the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN), and although making story choices is a big part of the game, its actual gameplay sequences echo light strategy/management sims like 911 Operator. During these moments in Dispatch, players choose which heroes they send on a call, with each one offering unique strengths and weaknesses that contribute toward a call’s success or failure.

Choosing which heroes to send out doesn’t always come down to one’s strengths in comparison to another, though, as Dispatch‘s Synergy system allows players to pair certain heroes together and have those strengths both intensified and occasionally altered. But while each Synergy pair in Dispatch has its benefits, certain teams rise above the rest in terms of their versatility, complementary roles, and the overall bonus offered by their synergy.

S-Tier

Malevola and Sonar

Players will no longer be able to take advantage of the Malevola + Sonar combo after Dispatch Episode 3 if they choose to cut Sonar instead of Coupe.

Malevola and Sonar are what many Dispatch players might consider to be a “broken” Synergy pair in the game, thanks to the healing and utility of Malevola paired with Sonar’s flexibility. Malevola’s portal and healing mechanics, plus Sonar’s strength in Intellect and his transformation skill, can cover a broad range of mission requirements, forming what could very well be the best Synergy pair in Dispatch — with Punch Up and Coupe perhaps being the only comparable team. In fact, when pairing Malevola with Sonar on almost any mission, players are likely to be successful, so long as their stats are allocated according to each hero’s strengths.

Punch Up and Coupe

Dispatch Punch Up Coupe Synergy

Players will no longer be able to take advantage of the Punch Up + Coupe combo after Dispatch Episode 3 if they choose to cut Coupe instead of Sonar.

Punch Up is already one of Dispatch‘s most reliable heroes — on account of the fact that he can’t be downed due to his Hard Head ability — but when paired with Coupe, the two heroes form one of the game’s strongest teams. Coupe starts with Combat, Intellect, and Mobility as their strongest stats, while Punch Up specializes in Combat, Charisma, and Vigor. As such, together, they become one of Dispatch‘s most well-rounded pairs, especially when players prioritize increasing the stats they are already proficient in.

A-Tier

Prism and Flambae

Dispatch Flambae Prism Synergy

In the A-Tier, the best Synergy pairs in Dispatch aren’t as versatile, but what they do specialize in, they do so with aplomb. Prism and Flambae form one such pairing, primarily due to Prism’s Doppleganger Illusion ability that creates copies of the hero to their left. This is especially useful with a hero like Flambae at their side, whose On Fire mechanic grants him increased Combat and Mobility after a call success that stacks until a call fails. Plus, with Prism and Flambae both specializing in Combat, this pair of heroes performs excellently on combat-heavy calls in the game, which occur rather frequently during Episodes 5 through 8 of Dispatch.

Invisigal and Golem

Dispatch Invisigal Golem Synergy

Dispatch‘s Invisigal and Golem are another combat-heavy Synergy pair in the game, as they both have strong Combat and Vigor starting stats. However, when paired up, Invisigal’s high Mobility and Golem’s high Charisma help round them out for increased versatility in calls. Moreover, Golem’s Charisma boost makes him better at crowd control and negotiation checks, while Invisigal’s Mobility helps her reduce the team’s travel time.

B-Tier

Malevola and Waterboy

Dispatch Malevola Waterboy Synergy

The Malevola + Waterboy Synergy pair is only available to players if they choose to cut Sonar in Episode 3 and then add Waterboy to the team in Episode 4.

Moving down in the tier list, the best Synergy pairs rely more on the choices players make in Dispatch, particularly in Episodes 3 and 4. In B-Tier, Malevola and Waterboy contribute a decent team, though Malevola’s synergy with Sonar was much stronger. Waterboy starts out with some of the weakest stat allocation in Dispatch, which makes Malevola’s more well-rounded distribution almost necessary to ensuring Waterboy’s success on a call. For players who choose to add Waterboy to the team in Dispatch Episode 4, this is a must-have pairing.

Punch Up and Phenomaman

Dispatch Punch Up Phenomaman Synergy

The Punch Up + Phenomaman Synergy pair is only available to players if they choose to cut Coupe in Episode 3 and then add Phenomaman to the team in Episode 4.

Unlike the Malevola and Waterboy combo, Dispatch‘s Punch Up and Phenomaman Synergy pair is much stronger — though it means refusing to add Waterboy to the team in Episode 4. Specifically, Phenomaman has some of the best starting stats in the game, and by then, players should have Punch Up’s stats in a very strong place. Plus, again, Punch Up’s Hard Head ability makes him a dependable hero, so when paired with the already-strong Phenomaman, the team can do rather well. The biggest downside is that the two of them primarily specialize in Combat and Vigor, meaning players will not only have to refuse Waterboy but also prioritize sending Punch Up and Phenomaman on combat-heavy missions.

C-Tier

Punch Up and Waterboy

Dispatch Punch Up Waterboy Synergy

The Punch Up + Waterboy Synergy pair is only available to players if they choose to cut Coupe in Episode 3 and then add Waterboy to the team in Episode 4.

The Punch Up and Waterboy combo in Dispatch tells a somewhat similar story to the Malevola and Waterboy pairing, in that Punch Up’s stats help round out Waterboy. While Waterboy has incredibly weak stat allocation with Intellect, Charisma, and Mobility being his “strengths,” Punch Up has high Combat, Charisma, and Vigor stats, which help to fill in the gaps left by Waterboy. The problem, though, is that Waterboy doesn’t just need the gaps filled in — he needs even his own strengths amplified. Thus, the Malevola and Waterboy Synergy pair makes for a greater success rate on calls in Dispatch than the Punch Up and Waterboy pair.

Malevola and Phenomaman

Dispatch Malevola Phenomaman Synergy

Finally, the Malevola and Phenomaman Synergy pair in Dispatch is actually a strong team when it comes to stats. First, there’s Malevola, who is a very well-rounded hero with high Combat and Charisma. Second, there’s Phenomaman, who not only has some of the strongest starting stats in the game but also has high Combat, Vigor, and Mobility, making his synergy with Malevola top-notch. Despite their stat pairing, though, this Synergy pair in Dispatch requires players to cut Sonar, whose Intellect and versatility are almost unmatched, and to reject Waterboy, whose late-game abilities ultimately make him a better choice than Phenomaman.
