With all the flashier changes (both good and bad) in the latest patch, it is possible to miss out on the smaller ones. So it is worth pointing out that the Laboratory in The First Descendant got some improvements.
Unfortunately, TFD is not in a good place right now. It is facing the lowest player count yet and a dwindling player base. Void Erosion Purge missions were supposed to be the best thing ever for the end-game, but they turned out to be a bit lacking. The most recent update expanded the Stages up to 30 but even those Stages have their problems. Thankfully, the devs said that they are looking into it and will adjust them accordingly. One change that flew under the radar of most is that the Laboratory, the place where you test out your builds versus different types, numbers, and levels of Vulgus, has some changes, making it more useful than ever.
The Recent Improvements to The Laboratory in The First Descendant Added Level 260 Enemies and Colossi
Until recently, you could only summon Vulgus to the laboratory. To test out your builds against a Colossus, you have to enter a real Void Intercept Battle and be under constant attack. Thankfully, all of that was changed in the Update 1.2.6.
The Laboratory got two major improvements. The level of Vulgus you can summon has been increased to 260. Now you can fine-tune your most powerful mobbing builds, right before tackling the highest Void Erosion stages. The number of Vulgus you can summon is still unchanged

The other improvement is that you can now summon Colossi, which you have already beaten. The principle is the same, open the terminal, and in the upper part of the screen, you now have the “Colossus Settings”. It will list all the Colossi you have beaten and that you can summon. There is even an option to turn them invincible or not.

You can target and destroy their weak points, as usual, and there is even a handy tracker, showing you how much damage you have done with your Firearms, Skills, other forms of damage (like when punching their Breakable Parts), and total damage dealt.
Hopefully, Nexon has more in store for us in the future. We’ll most surely get some updates on the current state in the upcoming dev broadcast.
