In Spring 2025, two awesome games will be released on PS5. But that is not all. It is officially confirmed that both Doom The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Will Be PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced.
PlayStation 5 Pro is the latest console from Sony, their best one yet. While riddled with controversy (due to the high price tag), it proved that it really does bring something to the table. With modern technologies and the use of AI, it offers way better visuals and performance than the regular PS5. However, it can’t render the game in full HD right from the get-go. For a game to benefit fully from everything PS5 Pro has to offer, the devs need to do some extra work, to “enhance” it. Those games giant the appropriately named tag “PS5 Pro Enhanced”, meaning they look and perform way better on PS5 Pro than on the regular PS5 console.
Upcoming Doom The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Got the PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced Tag
Doom The Dark Ages is the next title in the incredibly popular DOOM series, for the first time set in the medieval era (with a sci-fi twist, of course). It deals with the origins of the Doom Slayer, more specifically: “Experience the origin story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage in this epic, cinematic, and action-packed story.” Earlier trailers really do the series justice, and we can’t wait for it to finally be released (expected on May 15, 2025). But, as a cherry on top, it is confirmed on the PlayStation Store that Doom: The Dark Ages will have the coveted “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the debut game from Sandfall Interactive, offering a very compelling idea. It is an RPG with turn-based combat (can’t have enough of those!), set in a fantasy world inspired by Belle Époque France (the period around the turn of the 20th century). It follows a group of characters, named Expedition 33, trying to stop The Paintress from erasing everyone who’s 33 years of age. “With only one year left to live, join Gustave, Maelle, and their fellow Expeditioners as they embark upon a desperate quest to break the Paintress’ cycle of death. Follow the trail of previous expeditions and discover their fate.” And, as an added bonus for PS fans, this gripping game will have the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag, as confirmed on the official store.
